"It's a matter, in my view, of marrying the science and the engineering." - Dr. Cary Sneider, NGSS Writing Team Leader

The NGSS breaks from previous documents by including science and engineering standards. This presentation illustrates how an innovative, project-based high school curriculum–Engineering the Future: Science, Technology, and the Design Process–can help students develop their abilities to argue from evidence and learn core ideas about energy through engaging hands-on activities and can help you create your NGSS/STEM classroom.

"We are the future." Watch Engineering the Future™ (EtF) students from Massachusetts discuss their EtF classroom and how they feel it will impact our nation's future.

In Engineering the Future™, students take on the role of engineers and apply the engineering design process to define and solve problems by inventing and improving products, processes, and systems. Students develop an understanding of how advances in technology affect human society and how human society determines which new technologies will be developed.

Cooking a delicious meal? You can thank Chemistry for that!

In the Active Chemistry® Cookin' Chem chapter, students are challenged to create a segment for a TV Cooking Show explaining the chemistry behind the cooking.

Each Active Chemistry® chapter begins with a scenario and challenge that is interesting to students and motivates them to learn and remember the chemistry content as well as the science and engineering skills presented in the chapter.

For more information about the other Active Chemistry chapter challenges, please visit: https://www.iat.com/courses/high-school-science/active-chemistry/?type=content
