Katonah Art Center A northern westchester art school for education, community & love of the arts. With classes for all ages and levels.

Since 1998, The Katonah Art Center has become Northern Westchester's go-to hub for artistic learning. KAC is known for its warm, supportive environment that provides a creative sanctuary for artists, musicians, illustrators, sculptors, photographers, knitters, metal workers, wood workers, glass artists, painters and potters alike. Our instructors are locally and internationally known not only for their art but for their instructional quality. The art center, which has three painting studios, a pottery studio, a children's art room, an Apple computer lab and and a specialty studio for metalsmithing, stone sculpture, woodworking and fused glass is housed in a beautifully renovated old schoolhouse, walking distance from the Goldens Bridge Train Station.

Fall is in full swing at KAC. Our elementary aged Drawing & Painting students practiced using chalk pastels for this autumn still life lesson, focusing on concepts like overlapping, relative size, and foreground/background. With longer class times and smaller groups, our students build on what they learn in school art class while also having the space and freedom to explore their own creative ideas. Our fall session runs through December, so there’s plenty of time left to try a class.

Student artists in our printmaking camp made some really incredible work this summer. It’s amazing how a great line drawing becomes an even more fantastic print! We’re so proud of these students and the very special pieces they created. Printmaking classes are available this Fall for teens and adults on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday evenings.

Please note that there has been a change to the fall class start date. Classes will now begin on September 14 to allow additional time to prepare our studios for the fall session and ensure everything is ready for our students. Although the start date is one week later, the number of weeks remains the same. Our Summer Camp program runs through August 28th. We look forward to seeing you this fall!
