These days, especially as a parent, it is easy to get caught up in the idea that everything you do needs to be for achievement. Everything needs to be measured, tracked, judged, compared against benchmarks.
But some things don’t need to be measured to be worthwhile. Some things don’t need to be scaled or accelerated.
Some things just take time. Some things don’t have levels or watermarks or titles. And they are wonderful, just the way they are.
Before every GRM student show, I make the same speech to our students. First, I congratulate them-- they've done all the hard work already, the performance is just icing on the cake! I tell them that we are not here for perfection or excellence, rather we are here to celebrate their hard work. Final...
