Hi Knights! I’m Dana Hood, and I’m excited to be joining the W.A. Wright family as the new School Psychologist. I have proudly served as a school psychologist with Williamson County Schools for the past 13 years. As a Mt. Juliet native and resident, I’m very excited to come home and serve the community that helped shape me. I’m passionate about supporting students’ academic, social, and emotional growth.

Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my two children, family, and friends. I can't wait to meet our students, families, and staff and look forward to a wonderful school year!

When a community comes together, incredible things happen.

Every day during the school year, Wilson County Sheriff’s Office School Resource Officers walk through the doors of our schools with one mission—to protect the students, teachers, and staff entrusted to their care. While we pray they never have to face the unthinkable, we also believe they should have every available resource if that day ever comes.

Thanks to the incredible partnership between Shield 616 and The Charlie Daniels Journey Home Project, our community now has an opportunity to help provide rifle-rated ballistic protection for the School Resource Officers serving Wilson County schools.

This initiative is completely voluntary, but for those who have asked, “How can I support our SROs?”—this is one meaningful way to make a lasting impact.

We are deeply humbled by the unwavering support, prayers, and generosity this community has shown to the Wilson County Sheriff’s Office over the years. Time and time again, you have demonstrated that the safety of our children and the well-being of those who protect them matter.

Every contribution—large or small—is an investment in the deputies who willingly stand between danger and our schools each day. More than that, it sends a powerful message that they are valued, appreciated, and never stand alone.
