If we ride 45 minutes per ride, that’s only 48 hours left for the year.

Make the most of it.

“Maybe you don’t see your progress because you keep raising the bar”

It really catches me off guard sometimes how quietly Mission Impossible becomes “Of course I can do that”

Things you’ll never see me do as a Parelli Professional - strapping a horse’s mouth shut with a flash noseband.

One of the basic guiding principles in Natural Horsemanship is that as true Partners of the horse, we MUST accept their feedback - good, bad, or otherwise.

Using a tool to “remind a horse to keep its mouth closed/quiet” is really just saying “please stop giving me your opinions about my hands in your mouth”. Some have tried to excuse it for “stabilizing the bit”, however, if your tack fits that poorly, you should reconsider riding..

Simply put, it is lazy and shouldn’t be accepted. If your horse displays signs of anxiety, stress or discomfort with the bit, it’s our responsibility to offer lightness and help them find understanding instead of hiding the symptoms.

One of the quotes that comes to mind is, “something convinced against their will, will be of the same opinion still”.
You can’t force your partner into silently going along, that’s called a dictatorship.
The highest level maneuvers preformed with horses will not be impressive if force - fear - intimidation - mechanics are used to achieve them.

You don’t duck tape your parters mouth shut to have a conversation over dinner. Don’t pretend like it’s fair to the horse.
Do better.

✨Focus on yourself. Setting a good example is far more powerful than any argument. Sh*tmanship still gets far too much attention - but those who know, know.
