Principles of Liberty: A 5-Session Bible Study Series

Principles of Liberty: A 5-Session Bible Study Series This Bible study series mines from the Declaration of Independence ten biblical principles Americans need to rediscover and reimplement today.

Listen to history—not to the voices of those attempting to rewrite it.

John Zmirak is right. After reading his piece, please read this one I wrote, where I cite 4 reasons why people tend to accept abortion. https://t.ly/DtonM

1) They have rejected absolute truth despite obvious reasons to embrace it.
2) They don’t understand what unalienable rights are and don’t get that they come from God.
3) They have accepted the myth that says s*x is for pleasure alone and not about having children.
4) They have accepted same-s*x “marriage” as legitimate, despite the fact that heteros*xual couples can reproduce and same-s*x couples have an innate *inability* reproduce: “If two men or two women can ’marry’ then what does that say about marriages between opposite s*x couples — and even about relationships between opposite-s*x couples? It robs them of a recognition of their unique ability to produce children.“ This has ominous implications for family law, but ominous implications for the culture as well. The bottom line is in our culture, children just aren’t important anymore.

Even so, a fifth reality makes people very uncomfortable with abortion. People inherently know abortion is killing an innocent baby, because God has written His law is written on their hearts.

As John Zmirak indicated, it very well May take decades to educate the culture about the truth about abortion. Let’s understand the political realities we must operate within and seek to preserve all the good in our culture we can.

And let’s get busy sharing the truth with people—-including our friends at church! They need to hear it too! https://t.ly/Wsx1m

The pro-life movement, like the abolitionist cause before it, might require a full 100 years to finally prevail.

Suggestion: After Thanksgiving dinner or at some other point during Thanksgiving Day itself or the holiday period, call everyone together and use this discussion guide to learn about and to explore what happened to the Pilgrims during and immediately after their two-year experiment in socialism. We can more fully appreciate their attitude of thankfulness at what historians have called the second Thanksgiving of 1623 if we know the kinds of challenges they had endured. Listen to each audio clip, then use the suggested discussion items to share reactions and insights. Ideas for discussing the content covered in the audio clips have been intentionally designed to be brief; however, more lengthy conversations can occur if your group would like to have them.

A reasonable amount of time to allot for this exchange of thoughts and ideas between family and friends is about 30 minutes. Try it! You’ll learn, not only about the Pilgrims, but also about history, freedom and liberty, and biblical teachings on work, responsibility, and gratitude. In addition, some misconceptions and myths about socialism — an increasingly popular ideology today — just might fade under the light of truth. Keep in mind, though, that this is a time to learn and share about what happened to the Plymouth settlers and why, not a time to argue!

[T]he face of things was changed, to the rejoicing of the hearts of many for which they blessed God. —William Bradford, Governor of the Plymouth…
