Last week 5th Grade Students went to the Book Tasting Diner! Each table was a different genre where students had the choice to pick 4 different tables to go to based on their interest! Students then chose a book to sit and read for 20 minutes. During this lesson, they focused on the different between real reading vs. fake reading, the joy of reading, and what it means to have good reading stamina. Our rockets loved getting to explore new genres of books and dive deep into reading! 📚 💙🚀💚

Art Teacher LaShayn Jones attended the TAA Summer Institute 2026, the premier Summer Teacher Training & Professional Development Institute for k-12 Arts Education. The week
long institute was on the campus of MTSU, July 12-17. The week was filled with Core Sessions, Musings, and Interludes with Arts professionals.

Mrs. Jones was the model for the Caricature Interlude with the artist David Arnold. Mid-week, Mrs. Davis attended a hands-on Core Session on Visitor’s Day. Even Mrs. Davis got in on the creativity!
