🎃 Storybook Pumpkin Contest at Bobby Barrett Elementary Library! 📚✨

​The BBES Library is getting into the Fall spirit with our annual pumpkin decorating contest! BBES families are invited to decorate a pumpkin like their favorite book character. It’s easy, fun for everyone, and a great way to celebrate reading!

​🎨 How to Participate:
​Decorate at home: Use paper, glue, paint, markers, pipe cleaners, fabric, and any other craft items on your pumpkin. Real or fake pumpkins are welcome!

​🚫 NO CARVING OR CUTTING: Please DO NOT carve or cut the pumpkin!!

​Deadline: Send your pumpkin to school by October 15th at 4:00 PM. (Late entries cannot be accepted.)

​📋 Contest Rules:
​Pumpkins should represent a favorite book character. If you can, please include a copy of the book to display alongside your pumpkin!
​Students should complete most of the project themselves, with parents/family members providing assistance where needed.
​Entries will be judged on creativity and likeness to the character.

​🏆 Prizes & Winners:
Prizes will be awarded for the overall winning pumpkin as well as 1st, 2nd, 3rd, and 4th places! Winners will be announced and prizes given out at school.
​Participation is completely optional. We hope this inspires your family to create an awesome book character pumpkin and celebrate reading together!

🎨 Pencil, Color, and Farm Fun! 🌾

​Did you catch our students' amazing artwork at the Montgomery County Fair back in August? 🎡🐓🐇🐴🐖🐑🐐

​Last May, every grade created beautiful drawings featuring different farm animals. We couldn't be prouder of their hard work and creativity! 🚜🎨

🦁Congratulations to Lilyan Cordero the recipient of the 2nd annual “Me and Bobby McGehee” Scholarship. 🦁

🎨This scholarship is awarded to a senior who demonstrates exceptional originality, individuality, and imagination in how they execute and paint their senior parking space. 🖌️

Lilyan received a $500 scholarship and $100 gift card to Ouachita Artists Galllery, and free tuition to one of their gallery classes. ✨🌠

Natalee Ray earned second place and received a $100 gift card to Ouachita Artists Galllery, and free tuition to one of their gallery classes.🐳
