The last student day of the school year is tomorrow, Friday, May 29 and is an early dismissal day for students. BSHS students will dismiss after their final exams, YBMS students at 12:00 PM, and IFES and RICE students at 1:00 PM.

Summer school office hours begin the week of June 8 in which offices will be open Monday-Thursday and closed Fridays through August 7. Due to a number of facility projects planned this summer, please call ahead before visiting to ensure offices are open (717) 258-6484.

Information about the upcoming school year will be communicated with families in early August and the first student day of the 2026-2027 school year is Thursday, August 27, 2026.

FIELD DAY 2026 IS IN THE BOOKS!

​What a wild, wonderful, and fun time at Spring Meadows Park! Our Rice Elementary students absolutely crushed it at Field Day this week!

​From throwing and catching to showing off some serious teamwork, our students conquered 8 different stations of non-stop fun, games, and laughter. Safe to say, the energy levels were at an all-time high!

​Of course, a day this epic doesn't just happen by magic. We have some huge shoutouts to give:

​To our incredible Parent Volunteers: Thank you for wrangling, cheering, counting, and keeping the energy alive at every single station. We literally couldn't have done it without you!

​To our amazing PTO: Thank you for the popsicles! We really enjoyed them after Field Day!

To our awesome teachers: Thank you for your flexibility, dedication, and willingness to help! We are so grateful to have you at Rice!

Our 1st graders had a wild and exciting visit from Zoo America today! Students had the opportunity to learn about animals from North America and meet some amazing animal ambassadors, including a box turtle, albino corn snake, hawk, and skunk.

A huge thank you to Mrs. Predmore for securing a grant to make this experience possible for our students! We are so thankful for opportunities like this that bring hands-on learning to Rice Elementary. Thank you, Zoo America, for a fun and educational visit!

We are beyond thrilled to announce that our very own Mrs. Vincent was named a recipient of the Bubbler Foundation 2026 Staff Performance Award!

​Mrs. Vincent was officially recognized this past Friday evening at The Bubbler Foundation Dinner, where her hard work and passion for education were celebrated by our community. This prestigious honor is a testament to the heart, soul, and endless energy she pours into her classroom every single day.
