Want to earn easy bucks to spend at the NMH Food Systems Teach-In and Farmer's Market (May 11th)? Follow these easy steps to enter a photo contest!

1. Take artistic photos of what you think of when you hear "food system" (what do you eat? or where does it come from? or how does it get here?).
2. Submit your photos using the entry form linked below.
Submit as many entries as you'd like.
All community members (students and adults) are invited to participate with appropriate pictures.
Please note that your name is automatically collected by the entry form.
3. You will win ONE FARM BUCK for every photo we select to use for this year's event. For example, if we pick six of your photos, you will win six dollars to be spent at the farmer's market on May 11th

Last week, NMH Ecoleaders performed a waste audit on two freshman dorms! They dug through the weekend's trash to find out what recyclables are being thrown away. Results are being calculated, but in the meantime, here are pictures of our Ecoleaders diving in!

Last week Ecoleaders ran workshops for the Learning Through Action Summit, educating freshman, faculty, and other students about seed saving and energy systems at NMH!

On November 3rd, the NMH Ecoleaders ran a water taste test in the dining hall, encouraging students and faculty to see if they could tell the difference between NMH tap water and bottled water.

Through a quick survey, it was shown that an estimated 55% of participants were able to tell which pitcher contained NMH tap water! That means that tap water and bottled water have essentially the same taste.
Although participants could rarely tell the difference between the pitchers, an estimated 61% of all participants said they preferred the taste of the NMH tap water over bottled water!

A more in-depth data analysis is underway by an NMH math class and the results will be out soon.
