🍂🐴 A favorite fall tradition is getting a fresh new name! 🎃🌻

You may remember Fall on the Farm… well, this year we’re bringing you Harvest Jubilee — with all the farm fun you love and even more to experience!

Join us Sunday, September 21st from 10 AM–2 PM for a day on the farm featuring our Lil’ U-Pick Pumpkin Patch, fall photo opportunities, visits with your favorite farm friends, pony rides, wagon rides, the barrel train, crafts, our NEW play area, treats from the Snack Shack & more!

🎟️ Admission: $12 per person
Little ones 1 & under are FREE!

We’re so excited for this next season of Open Farm events and all the memories we’ll make with you along the way. 🌻

These kids have been BUSY! ❤️
There is so much more happening at FarmSchool than what you see at first glance.

They're caring for animals, cleaning, building, organizing, painting and preparing the farm for our upcoming season. And somewhere in the middle of all that work, they're learning how to become little entrepreneurs.

They're coming up with ideas, making products, learning about packaging and presentation, and getting our gift shop ready to sell things THEY created.

Are things always neat and tidy? Nope. 😂
Do we get dirty? Absolutely.
Do things always go according to plan? Not even close.
But THIS is learning.
Real responsibilities. Real teamwork. Real products. Real accomplishments.
And when they can stand back and say, “WE did that!” — that's the good stuff. ❤️
Our FarmSchoolers are getting us ready for another season at Lil’ Bit of Life, and I cannot wait for our families to see what they've been working on!

WEDNESDAY’S FARM LESSON 🪲🌿

Sometimes the best lessons happen when you just sit still and listen.

This morning, the farm is LOUD with cicadas — that unmistakable summertime soundtrack. ☀️🎶 And if you look closely, you’ll find little reminders of them everywhere… like this empty shell left behind.

Fun fact for the kiddos: Cicadas spend most of their lives underground, feeding on fluids from tree roots. When it’s finally time, they crawl up, shed their old exoskeleton, spread their wings and join that giant chorus we hear in the trees. 🌳

And that LOUD sound? It’s the male cicadas calling — and some cicada choruses can reach around 100 decibels! 😳

So today’s FarmSchool challenge:
👂 Stop and listen.
👀 Look around the trees, fences and posts.
🔎 How many cicada shells can you find?

Just another reminder that you don't always need a classroom to learn something pretty amazing. 💚

Sunday night at the farm… and I’m calling this weekend a WIN. ❤️🐓

We worked hard, checked a whole lot off the list, and our little Snack Shop is almost ready! 🍿🥤🍭

Of course, Pretty Gretta had to stop by and inspect our progress. 😂 Apparently she’s already applied for the position of Snack Shop Supervisor — although I’m not convinced she can be trusted around the snacks! Especially Cheez Its! 😆

There’s something pretty special about ending a productive weekend, looking around the farm, and seeing all those little projects finally coming together. ❤️

Apparently Nosy Sam has been promoted to Farm Supervisor. 😂

His responsibilities include:
😴 Napping on the job
🌴 Claiming the best shady spot
👀 Occasionally checking to make sure I’m still working
🦙 Offering absolutely ZERO assistance

Meanwhile, I’m over here sweating, cleaning, feeding, hauling, and getting the farm ready… while management is passed out on the turf.

Must be exhausting being this cute. 😂

We welcomed our lil’ farmers back to the farm and goodness, it felt SO good! 🐴🐐🐷❤️

A HUGE thank you to all the families who came through our gates with the most amazing smiles. Seeing so many familiar little faces — and realizing HOW BIG they got over the summer — absolutely made my heart happy! 🥹❤️

Did I take enough pictures? Nope! 😂 We were too busy talking, exploring, laughing and making memories.

Thank you for sharing your little farmers with us and continuing to make Lil’ Bit of Life such a special place.

🌧️ Rainy Day at FarmSchool = Business School! 🐴💡

When the rain changed our outdoor plans, our FarmSchoolers got busy becoming Lil’ Entrepreneurs!

Each student began creating their very own business plan—from dreaming up a product and designing a logo to figuring out pricing, costs, advertising, packaging, and even practicing their sales pitch.

And this isn’t just a worksheet! ❤️

During our upcoming farm season, our young entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to create their products and offer them for sale in the Lil’ Bit of Life Gift Shop!

They’ll get to experience what it really means to take an idea from “I wonder if I could make this…” to “I have a product for sale!”

Along the way, they’re learning:
✨ Creativity & product development
✨ Basic budgeting and math
✨ Pricing and profit
✨ Marketing & advertising
✨ Communication and customer service
✨ Responsibility and confidence
✨ The pride that comes from creating something of their own

Sometimes the best FarmSchool lessons happen when the rain changes our plans. 🌧️➡️💡
