The Community School Intertidal class invites you to attend a Pancake Breakfast this coming Sunday, October 25th from 9am - 12pm!

Our Intertidal cohort (4th and 5th grader) is hoping to build some play structures in the Babson Creek Learning Forest recess are and are learning about building, budgeting, and fundraising as part of this project.

Students plan to fundraise all the money needed through bake sales, a pancake breakfast, and donations. Additionally, they plan to make the building a community project involving parents and the wider community.

Last week, the Alpine class embarked on a big adventure: canoeing to a campsite on Tunk Lake for an overnight! Reported highlights included “getting a free shower” in the rain on the way in, cooking a delicious dinner of baked potatoes, flatbread pizza, and more over the fire, playing “Kubb” (a game involving wooden blocks), and enjoying the weather clearing for a gorgeous paddle back. 🛶🍕🌊

The Community School invites Explorers ages 1-3 and caregivers, to come discover the season of Fall with us!

Fall Wonder Walks will happen Tuesday 10/6, 10/13, 10/20 + 10/27, beginning at 3:30pm.

Each week, we will explore a location on the TCS campus (located at 585 Sound Drive, Mount Desert) through hands-on, nature-based activities that foster conversation and community-building among parents and children.

What is Place-Based Education?
