A new chapter is underway at Illinois Eastern Community Colleges.
Friends, family, colleagues and community members gathered Tuesday evening for the Investiture Ceremony of IECC Chancellor Dr. Tim Taylor.
For Dr. Taylor, returning to IECC is both a homecoming and an opportunity to look ahead.
“My first job is to listen and learn,” Taylor said. “I want to meet the faculty and staff. I want to hear from students. I want to talk to employers, school districts, elected officials and community leaders throughout our region.”
He also spoke about the unique strength of IECC’s four-college district.
“We can preserve the identity and traditions that make each of our colleges special, while also asking, what can we accomplish together that none of us could accomplish as effectively alone?”
As he begins his tenure as Chancellor, Taylor said he is ready to discover the answer alongside the people IECC serves.
“I’m looking forward to getting to know you and figuring out together what the next chapter of IECC can become
