Today I worked on another activity for my Precalculus student related to what we learned the last few weeks ago, regarding The Unit Circle. We will derive the parent trigonometry graphs of each of the six trig functions (only three shown in the pictures). The penciled information is what my student will be completing. I like to do it myself to make sure I've put my idea to paper properly and so I can gauge how long the activity should take.

We are finally finished with my The Unit Circle lessons and I think my student has an excellent grasp of what it is and all the numbers associated with it. It really blew her mind when I showed her an easy way to remember the coordinate points.

In college I was given a sheet and told to memorize this - IN ONE DAY! I combined about 4 ideas from Pinterest, found two cool videos on TikTok, and watched another short video on YouTube to make this set of lessons for her. This just goes to show Pinterest, TikTok, and YouTube are not complete brain rot. I can’t wait to teach this again!

For those of you who didn’t know, my father-in-law passed away last week. I appreciate all the families who sent condolences and were flexible with schedules. I had a former student drive 90 minutes ONE-WAY to come to the visitation and had another former student reach out to me directly checking in on us. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I have some really amazing students who really are like family!

Yesterday I spent much of the day putting together a homework activity packet for one of my students. This activity is inspired by the game Guess Who. In this case, each section has a series of questions and clues in the answer bank that will be marked off when the answer matches. The remaining answer is a clue to what organism I’ve chosen. By the end of 5 sections and 7 or so clues, we’ll see if he can guess correctly.
