Happy National Farmers Market week! 🙌
Farmers markets play an integral role in a small-town community. Here are five reasons why we're celebrating them this week! 😊
1️⃣ Farmers markets are where healthy food, education, entertainment and community engagement meet!
2️⃣ They spur spending at neighboring businesses. When food is produced, processed, distributed and sold all within the same region, more money stays in the local economy. This leads to economic development and job creation.
3️⃣ Local products sold at a Farmers Market come straight from the producer. There is little traveling with the farm-to-table approach, meaning money is saved on resources and, with less travel, fewer emissions are released into the environment.
4️⃣ 93% of our agriculture products at CFM are grown/produced within a 45 mile radius. The other 7% are products not available in our region and brought in by other Georgia farmers/producers.
5️⃣Since our 2019 revitalization, our Market has brought over $1,500,000 into Downtown Cartersville!🤯
