Happy first Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife . You are the best and most loving mom to Isabella. Your pregnancy was challenging and your labor was insane (46 hours…), further proving your toughness matches how much you care. I love living life with you and am excited for the future adventures with the three of us!

1300 miles of stroller running with Isabella so far. Thankful that I can do this with her and she either gets a good nap, happily babbles or gets to experience tons of scenery at least 1-2 times per day. We’ve run in the desert, the mountains, the forest, through rain, snow, sun and wind. We’ve run a 5:04 mile, a 10:58 2 mile and the longest we’ve run is 15 miles. Looking forward to more miles with her and !!!

This felt exactly like it looks. Placed 2nd overall at the , matching my best place finish from a few years ago. Went sub 17 through the 5k split on a long course with a solid and well paced negative split. The biggest challenge was not throwing up the last 200m as I tried to make it over the soft dirt horse track to get to the finish. One of the few races I plan to do without running with Isabella in the stroller. The Metaspeed Edge Paris did awesome and I will have a race review soon! Next big race goal: Finish and defend my dissertation!

Happy Valentine’s Day to the two best valentines anyone could ask for. Isabella turned 6 months on Monday and Regina is doing amazing in her postpartum. Thankful for their support and growth together as a family!

Slowing taking Isabella up to the mountains and altitude. She actually did better than Regina and I did. No photos because we were too enamored with enjoying our moments as a family, so here’s an old photo of me cruising at 8000ft in Wrightwood. Hoping we can either raise her in or spend as much time in the mountains as possible with her.

Isabella Zadie Klein has been an incredible addition to our lives (mom: ). Almost equally incredible has been the outpouring of support from the awesome team at as well many wonderfully kind and thoughtful human beings in the running industry. Shout out to Team for Isabella’s first pair of shoes which she is growing into quickly (yes she spends 99% of her time barefoot for normal pediatric foot development).

Watching her grow during this short time has been amazing. She is already incredibly motor driven (full head control at 3-4 weeks, attempting to roll already, extremely vocal and strong. She kicks extremely hard) and makes me wonder if she will have the same incredible energy and endurance her parents have.

A big thank you to everyone both in and outside the running industry that have been supportive. It means more than you know!

The final study of my PhD was approved! I am investigating the biomechanical and strength differences between masters runners (over 50) who are healthy and in masters runners with a history of Achilles tendinopathy!!! If you are a masters runner in Southern California, have had ongoing Achilles pain (or are healthy), are still running, have not had any recent rehabilitation or treatment and are interested in participating to help determine why Achilles problems are the most common injury in masters runners, please message me or contact me at [email protected]!

A big thank you to everyone that made ‘s baby shower such a special day for us this weekend. To all the friends and family who truly support us, you mean the world to us. We am so excited to meet and welcome our daughter into this world. Still working on names so any suggestions are appreciated!

One of the many things I hope to pass on to our soon to be born daughter is a love of nature, the mountains and forests. I was lucky enough to spend a significant part of my upbringing in the forest mountains of Oregon. Running through the mist down a forest mountain road is incredibly special to me. I was lucky enough to get that experience that a few weeks ago at Mt. Baldy, which did incredible things for my soul. If you can (and it is safe), spend some time outside at least once this week.

After months of work, I am proud to announce the second chapter of my PhD dissertation, an extensive systematic review that took an amount of incredible work, has been published in Sports Biomechanics. Proud to be able to get information out on what is happening in the bodies of masters runners so we can determine why injury types change and what we can do to keep ourselves healthy and running strong throughout the entirety of our lives!

Apparently I am great place to nap on as and our cats do this constantly.

I am not napping as I continue to push. Had my systematic review on masters runners accepted for publication last week. Working through the last proofs/edits before it goes live. Excited to be able to contribute something significant to the research world as I continue progressing through my PhD dissertation!
