I’ve been very sick the past two weeks and haven’t been able to do much but while laying on the couch I’ve been working on a very early prototype for a wax moth. Needs some big changes, but it’s a start.

VERY early prototype for a varroa reproductive cycle chart. lots of little things to fix and I need to switch to properly colored bee models. Its also too big at the moment (about the size of a dinner plate) so I need to scale it down a bit and add more descriptive information. This will also be used for a Tropilealaps version as well.

I’ve remodeled my human-scale varroa mite to be more anatomically correct. Old version on the left, new model on the right. And yes, it does indeed include a varroa butt 😂

(Also, yes, I did take these photos at my kitchen table while waiting for my kid to fall asleep 😂)

You can buy a premade, wearable version here: https://apertureapiary.com/products/human-scale-varroa-mite

Comb Keeper—the perfect reusable tool for burr comb and cutouts. Comb Keeper holds comb centered until the bees connect it to the frame; no more worries that they’ll chew through rubber bands too early. Slide Comb Keeper onto the frame, push the comb into place, and drop into the hive. Come back a few weeks later and slide Comb Keeper off to reuse!

Get them today at Apertureapiary.com

Fits frames with a 3/4” top bar.
