Millennium Charter Academy Student Life This page is for anyone that goes to MCA, or anyone who is interested in what is going on at our school. We are located in Mount Airy, North Carolina.

Millennium Charter Academy is an independent public school, serving grades kindergarten through ten, with plans to expand through grade twelve by the 2017-2018 academic year. It is structured to move forward thoughtfully, purposefully and quickly, fueled by its Mission and Vision as they are embodied by its leadership, staff, and parent body. As a charter school, MCA is an independent public schoo

l of choice, freed from many governmental rules, but accountable for results. The school is open to all who wish to attend. Since tax dollars pay for the education, there is no tuition charged. The school is accountable to its governing body, the Board of Directors of Millennium Education Foundation, its parent body, and to the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction, as well as to certain federal departments. What sets MCA apart? MCA has a distinctly classical philosophy undergirding thinking and practice. We have a high view of humanity believing that each student comes endowed with worth and value to be taught in healthy, authentic relationships by parents and teachers, and not to be trained as we would an animal or manipulated as we would masses of biological and electrical systems. We believe that the world makes sense and is understandable. We, therefore, seek to discover our place in it and then to pursue and promote all that is good, true, and beautiful. Our teaching delivers facts and skills, but focuses on ideas through an integrated curriculum, which includes quality literature and the arts. Our educational goals supersede those of going to college or getting a job. Alongside our students' parents, we aim to develop young men and women of wisdom and virtue, and free to flourish.

Hello from Student Life! On Friday we will be having a Costume Dance! You have to pay 7$ by 2nd lunch the day of the dance. We will have food, games, music, and even a costume contest were the king and queen costume winners will receive a prize of a Starbucks gift card! We sure hope to see all of yall there!😃

Hello from Student Life! Starting tomorrow we will be having a spirit week! To participate in the spirit week you have to pay 1$ ( WE WILL ACCEPT PAYMENT IN FIRST PERIOD) except on WACKY WEDNESDAY were we will accept canned food that will go to the Shepard's House. Here's a reminder of our themes!!
MAUI MONDAY: were you dress tropically tremendous!
TEACHER TUESDAY: were you dress as your favourite teacher!
WACKY WEDNESDAY: were you wear clothes that are both wacky and tacky!
THROWBACK THURSDAY: were you dress up from any time period.

To participate in the themes you must be able to pay 1$ every day you participate except on WACKY WEDNESDAY were we will accept can foods instead of 1$. Dance Troop

Each year, Millennium holds a week long colloquium. During this week, students study a broad topic in which they can each pick a certain way to veiw the subject. This years topic was medieval life. Every student chose one vocatio activity and one avocamentum activity to pursue for the week. The week ended with the feasting and revelry on Friday evening. The event allowed for the opportunity for students to demonstrate their new-found medieval skills.

Tomorrow is the first boys and girls basketball game! The girls will play at 4:00 pm, and the boys will play shortly after the girls finish. GO LIONS!
