Due to the current stay at home orders I will be doing a pre-registration for cheer. 🤸‍♀️🏈 All forms can be emailed back to me at [email protected]
If you would like me to send you a form you can email me or send me a fb message with your email address.

What’s the earliest a child can be dropped off at school? I normally drop mine off at 7:20-7:30 but tomorrow morning I have an early apt in bham and need to know if I can drop him off any earlier
Don’t forget Santa will be at MES tomorrow for pics!
If your kid is doing the summer program what all do you need to send, and what time is drop off?

It’s National Teacher Appreciate Week!
This past year has been the most surprising, difficult, challenging, stressful & full of unknowns. Teachers have had to step out of their comfort zones and learn how to reach out in more ways than they ever knew existed. It’s been challenging to teach & meet with students virtually, pushing students to participate & push through, grading, and not to mention feeling overwhelmed with all the changes. Our teachers need a shout out this week!!!!!!!!!! A pat on the back, a few words of affirmation for their perseverance this past year. Each and everyone of them have grown and are stronger than ever. Our teachers have overcome adversity and they’ve done just that. So let’s shower them with all the kindness we possibly can this week and make our teachers feel appreciated. They appreciate you. They especially appreciate all of our hard working students for being patient and working with MES during this pandemic. 👏🏻 Thank you parents for all your support when confusion consumed everything you thought had been figured out virtually and face to face. 😃

[06/18/20]   With the upmost respect for all our MES parents and teachers, Marty Wheat and I have treasured serving this page and tried our hardest to keep you updated on current happenings within and related events to the MES students, faculty and staff. As both of our children rose from prek to graduation of MES we will be moving on up to middle and high this year. We are leaving this page in the capable hands of Jennifer Wyatt. We hope you continue to support MES and the faculty along with the guidance of Mr. Posey to make 20-21 the best year yet. I do not know what the year will hold with the current events happening I do not know where Covid 19 will take us as the school year school starts but I do know that we as parents want the best for children and I know I will be willing to try whatever lies ahead to see that they have the best education possible. Be patient, be understanding. If its different for you it will also be different for them. Hey sometimes different is better❣🎉 Love to you all Dede and Marty

Hale County Board of Education

Hello HCS Family,

The Hale County School System’s Administrative Team has been working diligently to create an opportunity for your child to learn during these remaining weeks of the school year. We feel confident that our plan will provide the direction and support families need while ensuring our students remain on track to advance academically as natural as possible. Our teachers and support personnel are prepared and eager to support your child’s learning.

These learning opportunities will be available to you via online opportunities or through paper packet pick up at your child’s current school. All students should be prepared to continue learning from the current school year and prepare for the next grade and courses, so please be mindful of the importance of completing all activities.

Although our learning plan was created to encourage parent participation, please know their teachers are readily available to assist you via email or other identified options Monday through Friday from 8:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M. The plan is outlined below:
.
,
,
,

Seniors:
Seniors on track to graduate and in good standing as of the third nine-week reporting period will be considered “as meeting the graduation requirements” for the State of Alabama. Should a senior wish to improve his or her third term grade(s), he or she will be given the opportunity to do so through additional assignments.

• Seniors who are not on track to graduate will be given the opportunity for credit recovery immediately, rather than waiting until summer.

• Alabama Essential Pathway work hour requirements are waived.
• Per ALSDE, the Civics test requirement is waived for Seniors.

The dates of graduation ceremonies will be announced as soon as permission is granted by the ALSDE and CDC.
K-11th Grade Students

• Grades for students in K-11 will be determined by an average of their grades from the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd nine-weeks with 4th nine-weeks assignments to determine the End-of-Year Grade.

• Students in grades 9-11 who have a failing grade for the 3rd reporting period will have an opportunity to recover the credit as soon as possible.

• From April 8th through May 20th, lessons will be provided via the internet and through paper packets. Each school will have a scheduled pick-up time; therefore, those times will be announced individually. Schools will also announce when packets are to be returned, in a later announcement.

• Students in jeopardy of failing shall be contacted by his or her current school for further instructions.
.
.
.
.

Student Meals:
Due to the “Stay at Home” order issued by Governor Ivey, "Grab and Go" meals will be discontinued at this time. This procedure will be re-evaluated in the near future.

Thank you for your support and patience as we navigate through these unfamiliar times. Please know that our thoughts and prayers are with you as we work together to remain safe and healthy while making the Hale County School System the best it can be.

*If you have questions, please contact your child’s principal or teacher via email.

MES teachers have been hard at work this week preparing student work packets for our students that prefer a paper-pencil option. Packets will be ready for parents to drive thru and pick up this week. We will be sharing details on Monday regarding the date and time for packet pick up this week. We will also be communicating the details of our digital learning option on Monday. Please keep an eye out on our page and for a call out from the school on Monday.

Thank you for your continued support and flexibility as we navigate through this together.
