JES Families:

Open House & Attendance Meeting Clarification

We’re excited to see everyone tomorrow! We wanted to clarify the schedule so families can plan their visit.

Meet the Teacher / Back-to-School Open House:
Our doors will be open from 10:00 a.m.–6:00 p.m. Families may stop by any time during that window to meet teachers, visit classrooms, and bring school supplies. Students are encouraged to come with you!

Parent Attendance Meeting:
We will also hold a separate parent meeting at 5:00p.m. to explain our updated attendance plan for the upcoming school year. This meeting is intended for parents/guardians and is simply an opportunity for us to explain the plan, answer questions, and make sure everyone understands what to expect.

📣 Jayhawk Linn High School & Junior High Fall Sports Parents Meetings

Parents Meetings for all fall sports will be held Tuesday evening, August 18, during Open House. Please plan to attend the meeting for your student-athlete’s sport.

Juniors and Seniors taking FSCC Classes this year: Please make sure you can login to your Canvas account to access your class. If you have any problems, please email Mr. Kramer ([email protected]).

STARS Program Reminder – Juniors & Seniors

We wanted to remind everyone that STARS classes will begin Monday, August 17th. New STARS policy prohibits you from having your cell phone. Please bring another device for class Monday and Tuesday for instruction. If you do not have one, you will not be penalized. School devices will be available for pick up on Tuesday at Open House.

JUNIORS:
-STARS will be held from 10:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.
-Juniors will need to provide their own transportation to STARS August 17th–19th.
-Once Jayhawk-Linn school is in session, Juniors will be required to ride Jayhawk-Linn transportation to STARS. Juniors will not be allowed to drive themselves once Jayhawk-Linn classes begin.

SENIORS:
-STARS will be held from 7:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.
-Seniors will need to provide their own transportation to STARS and back to Jayhawk-Linn for the entire school year.

We are currently checking with FSCC to determine which fees are not covered by the state. Once we have that information, we will pass it along to you.

JLHS Cross Country is hosting a team dinner on August 14th for those student athletes planning to run for the team this fall. We are moving the location of that dinner to the High School so that we can eat inside and get out of the heat. We will have dinner at 6:00 PM. There will also be a parent meeting next Tuesday evening during the Open House event. We will meet at 5:30 that evening and I will share some information with parents at that time.
