Students in Mrs. Arnold's class are brainstorming and writing positive goal words for their Social Contract. After one minute the placemat is turned to a new Quadrant. Next, students add checks to those agreed upon words and add more words. After the 4-minute activity of rotations they tally to prioritize the words to create their final Social Contract.

Attendance Information

WELCOME, PACKER FAMILIES!

We are excited to kick off another amazing school year at Willie J.
Williams Middle School! We know that great things happen when families
and schools work together. One of the best ways to help your child
succeed is by making attendance a priority.

EVERY DAY YOUR CHILD IS IN SCHOOL IS ANOTHER OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN,
GROW, AND SHINE!

PACKERS SHOW UP!

STUDENTS WHO ATTEND SCHOOL REGULARLY ARE MORE LIKELY TO:

* Score higher academically.
* Stay on track with classwork and assignments.
* Build friendships and positive relationships.
* Develop habits that lead to lifelong success.

OUR GOAL: EVERY STUDENT, EVERY DAY, ON TIME!

SEND AN EXCUSE

If your child is absent, please send a written note or email
explaining the reason for the absence.

Email attendance excuses to: Lisa Crosby, attendance clerk, at
[email protected]

BEING ON TIME MATTERS

Children are marked tardy if they arrive after 8:00 AM. Excessive
tardies lead to attendance consequences.

OUR ATTENDANCE PLAYBOOK FOR UNEXCUSED ABSENCES

We're on the same team! If attendance becomes a concern, here's how
we'll work together to support your student.

* 3 absences: Parent contact by phone, email, letter, or messaging.
* 5 absences: School conference to discuss attendance and create a
success plan.
* 7 absences: Home visit by school staff.
* 9 absences: Attendance hearing with school officials, District
Attorney representatives, and DFCS.
* 12 absences: Legal action may be pursued in accordance with Georgia
attendance law.

WE'RE HERE TO HELP!

If your family needs support with attendance or you're experiencing
challenges that may affect your child's school attendance, we're here
to help. Together, we can connect your family with resources and
create a plan for success.

SCHOOL SOCIAL WORKER: BETHANY HENDLEY,

TOGETHER, WE WILL MAKE THIS A CHAMPIONSHIP YEAR!
