We had the best adventure today! We had a small group field trip to Joe Budd Aquatic Education Center to learn paddleboarding and to learn about water quality. Every bit of the day was so much better than we expected. The folks in the Education Center are just amazing!

🐢✨Aggie’s Being Released!✨🐢

We are excited to announce that one of our rescued sea turtles, Aggie, is ready to be released! Back in September, she washed ashore at Keaton Beach during Hurricane Helene. Aggie battled several obstacles after the hurricane including pneumonia, a severe bone infection, and injuries to her right shoulder and shell. Since being at Gulf Specimen for nearly a year, she has made an amazing recovery! Aggie has since tripled in size, learned to swim and eat on her own again, and has been thriving.

Aggie is finally ready to be released after being officially cleared! Please join us as we watch her swim home on Thursday August 28th at 3pm. The release will be located at Bald Point State Park. 🌊

Green sea turtles are an endangered species, so we are thankful we got to help Aggie recover and release a healthy juvenile back into the population. We will miss Aggie dearly, but are amazed at her strength throughout her recovery and are thrilled to send her home. ✨

Hey yall! Unfortunately, my plan for adventures didn't really take off like I planned last year, but I still want it to. Please follow this page, and comment/contact me if you'd like to join us on adventures this year. I love to take our kids on unexpected field trips, go hiking, and learn through doing or experiencing! When I plan these adventures out early enough, I'll share to see if we can get a good group together. 🚸🥾

Hey everyone! Ever since we started homeschooling, my wish has been that we could go enjoy this beautiful area with others who love the outdoors like we do! This year, we're making our "Adventure" group a reality, and want you to join us 🥾🥾

I'll post our planned adventures here, on this page! Yall join us 🎉🎉 We'll have mostly monthly outings, and I'm trying to plan them all for the first Friday of each month.
