Dear Larson Heights Families,

We are thrilled to welcome our students back to the classroom for a wonderful year of learning and community! To kick off the school year, we cordially invite all parents, guardians, and students to our annual Back-to-School Open House on Monday, August 31st from 5:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

This event is a fantastic opportunity to visit the classrooms, find your child's desk, meet our wonderful teachers in person, and drop off school supplies before the first day.

To welcome you personally, your child's classroom teacher will call you on Friday, August 28th to introduce themselves, share initial details, and formally invite you to the Open House.

Our office will be open Monday August 17th (but remember the parking lot will be under construction- so you may be better off waiting until Tuesday).

We look forward to partnering with your family for an incredible school year!

Also, I've attached the School Supply List below.

Just a friendly reminder students should not be on campus any earlier than 8:45. School will be staring at 9:00 AM This year.

Warmly,
Dawn Sandhop
Principal

We are excited to welcome Mr. Hunt as our new PE Teacher. Mr. Preston has accepted the Aquatics Teaching position at Moses Lake High School, where he will have the opportunity to share his passion for swimming with students on an even larger scale. Anyone who knows Mr. Preston knows that aquatics has always held a special place in his heart. In his new role, he is excited to help redevelop the 5th grade swim program and support both the Moses Lake High School Girls and Boys Swim Teams. His enthusiasm for teaching, coaching, and building confidence in young athletes will continue to make a positive impact throughout our community.

Although we will miss Mr. Preston, we are excited to have Mr. Hunt join our Eagle Family!

Calendar update… last day is school
Is now Monday June 15th.

COLLABORATING TOGETHER

Due to today's emergency school closure resulting from severe weather and power-related impacts across our community, the Moses Lake School District calendar will be adjusted for the remainder of the school year.

Because the district does not qualify for a state emergency closure waiver, the missed school day must be made up.

As a result:
• Friday, June 12, 2026, will now be a FULL DAY of school.
• Monday, June 15, 2026, will be a HALF DAY of school and the LAST DAY of school for students. PLEASE NOTE: Monday, June 15, 2026 will not be a late start.

Please note that high school graduation ceremonies will not be impacted by this change.

Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support as we finish the school year strong. The updated calendar can be found on the district's website at www.mlsd161.org/calendar
