Happy Fight Song Friday!!! Several years back Midway applied and became accredited as a "No Excuses University" school. We are part of a network of schools across the nation, that says and believes no matter where you come from, you can accomplish your goals and dreams after high school for college, tech school, and military! NO EXCUSES! We start young, bringing college traditions, knowledge, culture, and belonging to our elementary school.

Again, Happy Fight Song Friday! Let's keep building and achieving dreams together! ❤️🎉

Thank you PTO President Edher Garcia, our amazing PTO, and all of our amazing students, families, and staff for making this possible! Year has just started and already making dreams become a reality! This was no short feat and for some of our kiddos and families the first time to that water park all summer! PTO thank you for all of the blessings you bestow upon us. We are beyond fortunate to have so much love and effort put into our school. Thank you for helping to make us great and providing so many great experiences and supports for our kids. Been a phenomenal year! Proof is in the pudding! 4 years of amazing year over year academic growth in BOTH reading and math due to these amazing students, staff, and families! Excellence at its finest! Students earning academic medals for their hard work! In the beginning of the year, students take an assessment to create a baseline score of where they are at in reading and math. We then progress check with that same assessment in winter and spring. It measures individual student "growth" and also provides an "achievement" score so students know where they are at and how they are doing nationally. At Midway 16 students from each grade earn placement medals. 4 students that "grew" the most and also 4 students with the highest "achievement" score on the test. This is recognized in both reading and math for 16 medal opportunities per grade. Any and all students can earn an individual academic certificate for reaching their own "typical growth" and "stretch growth" for the year! Lastly Champion medals for a ton of kids in grades 3-5 who proved they are academic champions by passing the state assessment. Keep up the great work students and team! It shows! 💪❤️🎉

TEACHING & LEARNING
Big news for Moses Lake students and schools!

Three of our schools have been recognized by the Washington School Recognition Program for the 2024-25 school year—an honor earned by only about 16% of schools statewide.

These awards, announced by the The Washington State Board of Education, recognize that our schools have demonstrated exceptional progress in key areas of student success.

Here’s what that means:

Midway Elementary School - Closing Gaps for students learning English

Sage Point Elementary School - Growth for students learning English

Vanguard Academy - Growth for students in one or more racial or ethnic groups

These recognitions reflect real progress—students growing, gaps closing, and opportunities expanding.

And soon, each school will receive a state recognition banner to display—something students and staff can see every day as a reminder of what they’ve accomplished.

Proud of our students. Grateful for our educators. Focused on what’s next.
