You may remember KEIKO OGURA from her keynote address at the Remembering Hiroshima symposium at the U of I in 2022. Keiko was eight years old when the atomic bomb was dropped on Hiroshima on Aug. 6, 1945. She has made it her mission to share her experiences with people all over the world, in hopes of preventing another such catastrophe. She has spoken to people in more than 50 countries, with world leaders at the G7 Summit, and at the most recent Nobel Peace Prize Forum. For her tireless work on behalf of world peace, Keiko received an Honorary Doctorate of Humane Letters from the University of Idaho. Please join us on Tuesday, Feb. 25, 2025, at 4:30 PM (Pacific) for a webinar where Keiko will recount her experiences. The webinar is co-sponsored by the Habib Institute for Asian Studies and the Hiroshima Peace Memorial Museum, and is free and open to the public. Register in advance here:
