We can’t wait to welcome our families to Open House/Meet the Teacher Night tomorrow, August 25th, from 5:00–5:30 PM! 🏫🍎

Come meet your child’s teacher, visit the classroom, and get ready for a wonderful school year!

Then, stick around for a sweet treat! 🍦💙 Our PTO will be hosting an Ice Cream Social from 5:30–6:00 PM out on the playground.

What a fun day at school! 🏈📚 Today, some amazing University of Idaho football players stopped by to help kick off the U of I Summer Reading Challenge! Our students loved hearing about the importance of reading, meeting the players, and getting excited for summer books.

To top it all off, the players had our whole school joining in and singing the Idaho Fight Song loud and proud! 🎶💛🖤 What an unforgettable way to inspire a love of reading and show our Vandal spirit!

Thank you to the U of I football team for spending part of your day with us—we had a blast!

Today, McDonald Elementary had the joy of welcoming the Moscow High School Choir for a special performance! 🎶❤️
It was such a meaningful moment to see the youngest and oldest students in our district connected through music, creating a beautiful bridge across years of learners. From little smiles in the audience to inspiring voices up front, the experience reminded us how strong and supportive our school community truly is.
A special thank you to Ms. Stephanie Sant, who leads the Moscow High School Choir while also sharing her love of music every day as McDonald Elementary’s music teacher. What a wonderful way to bring students together through the power of song! 🎵✨

It is time for another Staff Highlight!

Pepper Abbott teaches Title 1 at McDonald Elementary this year. She achieved her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the University of Idaho in Elementary and Special Education.

Mrs. Abbott loves being outdoors! She enjoys hiking, biking, whitewater rafting, four wheeling, soccer, rock climbing, snowboarding and camping. If after all of this she has any spare time, she loves to quilt and knit, but top on her list is spending time with her husband, children and dog.

Some interesting facts that you may not know about Mrs. Abbott is that she spent four summers in Naknek, Alaska working in the roe room of a fish processing plant. She also fought wild fires for seven summers.
