Greetings Friends and Alumni!

2025 marks the 25th anniversary of the KINO Short Film Festival, which showcases student work alongside the best films of the Pacific Northwest.

We need your help to make the 25th anniversary of the KINO braver and bolder.

We are hoping to raise $5,000 this year to support the festival, and, eventually, $25,000 to establish an endowment that funds KINO in perpetuity.

Please consider donating to help us expand the KINO into a multiday festival for its anniversary and to sustain the KINO for years to come.

JAMM students fundraise each year to make the event possible, and your donation would help ensure that they meet their goals.

Your donation also helps JAMM students prepare for successful careers in media. At the KINO, film and broadcasting students show their work, advertising and public relations students learn event planning by managing the festival, and journalism students cover the event. It’s a learning experience across majors.

We hope you will mark your calendars for April 25-26 to return to Moscow for the KINO and to connect with other JAMM alumni!

Donations of all kinds will sustain the KINO, and any individual or organization donating $1,000 or more will become a lifetime KINO sponsor, earning free access to film screenings, parties, and other events in perpetuity.

Thank you for your support and go Vandals!

This fall, we introduced a new PR course to better examine the role of PR in society, and this semester’s class has covered political public relations.

Students have had the chance to hear from an all-star lineup of political communication professionals, including JAMM alums Madison Hardy (communications director, Sen. James Risch), Samantha Storms and Andrea Good (external affairs, Bureau of Land Management – Fire), and academics including historian Amber Roessner (University of Tennessee) and political communication expert Megan Duncan (Virginia Tech).

Last week the students heard from Josh Burstein, the creative director for the Democratic National Convention, who spoke about digital content creation strategies.
