Indigenous Peoples' Day! 🌿

At the University of Idaho Native American Student Center, we are proud to honor the strength, resilience, and cultures of all Indigenous peoples. Moscow, Idaho—home to the Niimíipuu (Nez Perce), Palus (Palouse), and Schitsu’umsh (Coeur d’Alene) tribes —became the first city in Idaho to officially recognize Indigenous Peoples' Day in 2017, and we continue to celebrate this important day on campus.

Indigenous Peoples' Day is not just a time for reflection, but also a time to recognize the vital contributions of Indigenous communities, both historically and in our modern world. It is a call to support the ongoing journey toward justice, equity, and healing for Native peoples.

Today and every day, we are committed to uplifting Indigenous voices, promoting cultural understanding, and creating a space of belonging for Native students and all communities at the University of Idaho.
