Did you know that Xi Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta was installed at the University of Idaho on February 3, 1910? Let’s celebrate 115 years of sisterhood by gathering with our local sisters on February 3rd—whether it’s a coffee date, brunch, or a virtual toast, make it your own!

Happy 114th birthday Xi Chapter of Gamma Phi Beta!!

Xi Chapter was installed at the University of Idaho in Moscow, Idaho, on February 3, 1910.

Xi Chapter (Idaho) became the first national sorority on campus when 27 members of a local society were initiated in a three-day ceremony. Juniors and seniors were initiated February 3, alumnae and sophomores on the following day and freshmen on February 4.

We are proud to announce that we were able to award 11 different members with scholarships for next academic school year totaling $12,250.

Hayli Goicoa, Katie Russell, and Zoe Davis we’re awarded the Dolores Hormaechea Chapman Scholarship.

Lynara Bennett was awarded the Norma Carter Memorial Gamma Phi Beta Scholarship.

Carly Tranbarger was awarded the Barbara Eisinger & Martha Kuhn Gamma Phi Beta Scholarship.

Lauren Fitzgerald was awarded the Lyla Schroeder Memorial Scholarship.

Julia Bedke was awarded the Patty Albanese Fery Gamma Phi Beta Scholarship. (Read Below for more information)

Abigail Plaza was awarded the Hoff-Adams Scholarship.

Kaylyn Fish and Kennedy LaFountaine were awarded the Pat Snyder Memorial Scholarship.

Martha Smith was awarded the Kristin Clovis Gamma Phi Beta Scholarship. (Read Below for more information)

Two of the scholarships awarded this year are new!

Patty Albanese Fery is a 1986 graduate, who studied communications. She resides in Boise and has 3 children. She has been an active supporter and volunteer to University of Idaho for years. This is the first year of her scholarship being awarded out to a member!

Kristin Clovis was a 2010 graduate, who studied Accounting. She was known in Gamma Phi Beta as being loyal and spreading laughter. She was taken from us in 2019 as a result of a cerebral aneurysm. She was beloved by her pledge class, her family and all who knew her. This fund was created to remember her by and celebrate her sisterhood to Gamma Phi Beta. This is the first year her scholarship is being awarded to a member.

Exciting news! For Vandal Giving Day, our sorority is launching a new scholarship for our undergraduate members. The scholarship will be awarded to the President of our chapter who exemplifies our core values and dedicates countless hours to our chapter during her term. We are proud to offer this scholarship as a lasting tribute to all the women who have served as President over the years, and to empower the next generation of sorority women and leaders in our community.

We would like to extend a special thank you to the members of the classes of 1958-1962 who provided the seed money to start this scholarship. Your generosity has allowed us to get the scholarship off the ground and create a lasting impact on the lives of our undergraduate members.

This week, five of our sisters were Legislative Ambassadors for the University of Idaho. They spent two days advocating for higher education to the Idaho legislature. 📚

We are so proud of our sisters and can’t wait to see all they accomplish in life! 😝
