Have you participated in coaching through your local child care resource center (CCRC)? You may have a number of points you can apply towards a badge! Have you completed a home-based specialization? You are eligible to apply for a business practices badge! Have you completed many IdahoSTARS trainings over the past two years? You may already have a number of points towards earning a badge! Are you trained as a Montessori instructor? You are eligible to apply for a Montessori badge!

Recognize your expertise in early childhood education with an Early Childhood Care and Education (ECE) Badge! Receive a $500 incentive for completing an ECE Badge AND earn as many $500 ECE badge incentives as you would like!

Special Training Scholarship Opportunity! Due to remaining budget this year, IdahoSTARS is extending the opportunity for eligible providers to apply for a training scholarship beyond the normal $200 annual limit. Applications for this new opportunity are only open for a short time (between now and June 1, 2022). Any professional development opportunity which improves your quality of practice with young children, parents and families may qualify; there is no minimum or maximum cost threshold. Trainings must occur or begin within this fiscal year (July 1, 2021 – June 30, 2022.) If you have already paid out of pocket for a training within this fiscal year, you could qualify for a reimbursement scholarship. Proof of training completion will be required. Summer semester higher education grants are now available for Idaho students! Applications for higher education grants are open for classes/sessions with a start date on or before June 30, 2022. Applications are due by April 8, 2022. Submit yours online at https://forms.gle/2D5MYZTKbY6Nofqc7

These summer semester grants are available for Idaho students taking summer courses who are early childhood education (ECE) degree-seeking students (any course which counts toward your ECE degree may be considered), are other degree-seeking students, or are non-degree seeking students (only ECE courses will be considered).

Apply now for custom grant award amounts based on your institution's tuition charges, and the grants will be disbursed directly to your college or university. Proof of attendance and registration in an Early Childhood related degree program or class(es) along with satisfactory completion of coursework with a GPA of 2.5 or higher are required.

If your school’s summer registration does not happen until after this application, then please complete your application to the best of your knowledge. When needed, the scholarship office will reach out to you for completing your application. This is a unique opportunity for Idaho Early Childhood Educators to promote social and emotional competencies and prevent and address challenging behavior in Idaho’s children.
The Idaho Pyramid Model Collaborative is an initiative of The Idaho State Department of Education-Division of Special Education, Idaho SESTA (Special Education Support & Technical Assistance), Head Start Collaboration Office, Center on Disabilities and Human Development (CDHD/University of Idaho), IdahoSTARS, and Boise State University.
The framework focuses on supporting Idaho’s Early Childhood Educators build strong evidence-based teaching and learning practices. These practices are focused on developing positive relationships, supportive and nurturing environments, inclusion, teaching social/emotional skills, and reducing challenging behavior through training and on-going support.
