Delta Zeta sisterhood is a special bond between women who choose to pledge themselves to Delta Zeta and her members. There are 158 college chapters throughout the United States and Canada and over 200 alumnae chapters and associations. As a member of Delta Zeta, you will share with sisters everywhere a host of customs and traditions. You will support the Sorority's national philanthropies and proj
ects. You will have the opportunity to attend National Convention where you can experience the scope and importance of the organization to which you belong and the significance of your place in it. Scholarship:
Delta Zeta believes that academic development and achievement should be the primary concern of all collegiate members. Academic excellence is the foundation of the Sorority and every chapter encourages high scholarship. To help you attain academic achievement, we provide the assistance you need to develop good study habits. In addition, Delta Zeta sisters help you in specific studies. Delta Zeta will help you reach your academic goals, not hinder them. Service and Philanthropy:
Service to others enriches the world. The Delta Zeta Creed says, "To those whom my life may touch in slight measure, May I give graciously, Of what is mine." Our national philanthropies, supported by both collegiate and alumnae chapters, are speech and hearing and The Painted Turtle camp. Through Delta Zeta's philanthropy of speech and hearing, Delta Zeta has national partnerships with The Starkey Hearing Foundation, Gallaudet University and the House Ear Institute. Chapters also support other local and national speech and hearing organizations. All these important programs provide additional volunteer and giving opportunities for collegiate and alumnae members. Being an Active Collegian:
A successful member of Delta Zeta is a woman who maintains her involvement throughout all her college years; realizing that a complete experience is one of receiving and giving to the membership of her chapter. An active upperclassman has the opportunity to provide leadership and mentoring as a result of her experiences and maturity. The more you put into your chapter, the more you will get out of it. It is important that you share your skills and talents with your chapter. When doing so, you are directly responsible for ensuring its success and achievement. By being a contributing member of Delta Zeta, you will be prepared to succeed within our sisterhood, as well as in the world community.
