The Swim Bears state team had a great prelims session today! All 4 relays qualified for finals. On the girls team freshman Suzka Martin made consolation finals in the 200 IM and senior Ally Crossland accomplished the same in the 100 Breaststroke. In the boys' events, freshman Noah Crossler will compete in finals in both the 100 fly and 500 free. Senior Ian Schlater swims the 200 IM in consols and the 100 back in finals. Senior Luke Zimmer will score points for the Bears in the consol heats of both the 50 free and 100 breaststroke. Racing begins again on Saturday at 9:00 AM Pacific Time. Go Bears!

North Idaho District swimming championship meet is Saturday 1:40pm at UI Swim Center. Tickets by credit card only at door: $6 adults, $5 students.

To Do List

1. if needed, get a sports physical as soon as possible (required for freshmen, juniors and anyone new to Bear Athletic Activities)

2. have a parent/guardian create an account on RegisterMyAthlete.com to get into the communication loop and find the forms needed for printing (sports physical) or online (waivers, etc.)

3. register the student athlete on RegisterMyAthlete.com for the 2022 Girls Swimming or Boys Swimming teams and get your forms signed and submitted, too. That way you are ready for…

The First Day of MHS Swim Practice! – Monday, August 15th 6:30 – 8:30 AM at Hamilton-Lowe Aquatic Center

You cannot practice until all 3 are completed and you are in "Ready for Tryouts" or "Completed" status. You must have a minimum of 10 practices to be eligible to compete at swim meets!

Practices will be Mondays through Thursdays:
August 15th - 18th @ Hamilton-Lowe, 6:30 - 8:30 am.
August 22nd - Sept. 1st @ University of Idaho Swim Center, 4:00 - 6:00 pm
Sept. 6th, regular practices will be 5:30 - 7:00 pm @ UI Swim Center through the end of the season
Swim meets begin with the traditional Icebreaker meet on Saturday, September 10th, here in Moscow, at UI Swim Center!

An important athlete and parent meeting will be held this coming Monday, August 10th, at 6:00 pm on the North bleachers at the Moscow Middle School track (off of N. Mountain View Drive). Wear a mask and practice social distancing. If you are not able to attend this meeting please email Head Coach Jody Rash [email protected] ASAP. Please share this message with other students and parents who would like more information about high school swimming.

Our first practice will be Tuesday night, August 11th at 6:30 - 7:30 pm at the UI Swim Center and will include return to practice safety protocols, equipment checkout, and a dryland practice. Please wear appropriate attire, especially footwear, for a dryland workout.

Tentatively our first swim practice will be Wednesday, August 12th at 7:00 pm - more information to follow.

Please make sure you complete your registration on registermyathlete.com before Tuesday, August 11th.
You will not be allowed to practice unless your status is “ready for tryouts” or “complete”.

Freshmen, Juniors and students participating in MHS sports for the first time must have current sports physicals prior to participating in practices (Tuesday onward). Sophomores and Seniors must complete the "Interim (Medical) Questionnaire and Waiver" on RegisterMyAthlete.

Plans are moving forward for the 2020 swim season. Let friends know about our start up info:
1. Covid-19 Safety Protocols.
District-level protocols are being finalized for HS Sports, in addition to protocols that will be in place for swim practices and competitions.
These will be communicated as soon as possible.
Please know that the safety of our athletes and our community is the top priority and that the protocols will reflect this priority.

2. Athlete Registration & Physicals
PLEASE COMPLETE THIS NOW !!
Athletes will be required to have their registration, waivers and sport physicals completed prior to beginning practice.
Go to RegisterMyAthlete.com to complete all forms and pay fees (fees are due by Day 3 of practice).
Incoming Freshman and Juniors (9th & 11th grades) and students new to MHS athletics must submit a sports physical that has been completed after May 1, 2020.

3. TENTATIVE Practice Schedule * All practices will be held at the U of I Swim Center * First day of practice - Monday August 10th
August 10th - 21 *** Monday - Friday, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
August 24th and after *** Monday - Friday, 6:00 - 7:30 pm
Dryland practices are TBD.
