New Saint Andrews has filed a suit in federal court against the city of Moscow in order to protect the college’s rights to operate in the heart of the city that we love.

NSA has been part of downtown Moscow for nearly thirty years. Our students live here, shop here, worship here, and serve here, and we have every intention of continuing to do so. That is why, after several years of trying to resolve this matter through the ordinary channels, we have filed suit in federal court to protect the college's right to operate in Moscow.

The question at issue is simple. We believe the Constitution and state and federal laws do not permit a city to treat a religious college differently from its neighbors, and we have asked the court to say so.

We did not take this step lightly, and we take no pleasure in it. In the meantime, nothing changes for our students, faculty, or families. Classes continue, the term continues, and our work continues. We are grateful to the many people, in Moscow and beyond, who have already reached out, and we would be glad for your prayers as this proceeds.

On this day in 1620, the Pilgrims set out from Plymouth on the Mayflower.

As the USA celebrates its 250th anniversary, we should also look 150 years prior to when a few Puritans decided to pursue religious freedom. Celebrate the faithfulness that made this wonderful country we love.

We need stronger culture-shapers like the Puritans who put their pursuit of Christ above everything else.

New Saint Andrews College invites first-time college freshmen from across the United States and around the world to enter its Regional Scholarship Competition. Up to 10 scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded, each renewable for up to 4 years.

To compete:

1. Read NSA’s 33 Theses on Culture Shaping.
2. Select one thesis.
3. Create a 2–3 minute video applying that thesis to a specific aspect of your region’s culture.
4. Identify an area in need of reform and offer a positive, tangible vision for bringing that reform about.

Applicants must be high school seniors seeking full-time admission to NSA’s Bachelor of Arts program immediately following graduation.
