The rise of no-fault divorce fundamentally changed the legal understanding of marriage; from a lifelong covenant that the law protects to a contract that either spouse may dissolve at will. The consequences have been catastrophic for families, children, and society.

No-fault divorce reflects the broader spirit of the s*xual revolution: the elevation of individual autonomy over covenantal obligation, reducing marriage from a binding institution to one governed primarily by personal fulfillment.

The Supreme Court's opinion in Obergefell v. Hodges was driven more by sentiment than by serious constitutional reasoning.
