Dr. Paul D. Miller is a Professor of the Practice of International Affairs at Georgetown University's School of Foreign Service. He has previously served in the U.S. Army, including a tour in Afghanistan, worked as an analyst with the CIA, and served as Director for Afghanistan and Pakistan on the National Security Council staff.
A vocal critic of Christian Nationalism, Dr. Miller argues that its core tenets pose a significant threat to both the church and the state. These concerns led him to write the award-winning book, The Religion of American Greatness, which critically examines Christian Nationalism.
As the principal speaker at this week’s debate, Dr. Miller will address natural law, religious freedom, and Christian Nationalism. We look forward to his debate with Jeff Shafer, Doug Wilson, and Tim Harmon.

The affirmative side argued for the following thesis: one can best reform American politics by supporting reform within a major party rather than by supporting a third party. The negative side argued the contrary position: one can best reform American politics by supporting a third party rather than supporting reform within a major party. "I remember September 11, 2001, very well. That day presents an odd challenge to me. As a professional historian, I make sense of the past from the scraps and remainders that other people have left behind, most of whom lived long, long ago. It is not my usual practice to draw upon my own direct recollection as a source for understanding the past. That infamous date—9/11—tosses me across the gap between history and living memory," Dr. Schlect recounts - read the full story here: https://nsa.edu/blog/remembering-911

We must recognize that no word is inherently evil; it is the use of a term that determines its moral character. A "bad word" is one employed inappropriately or out of place (Ephesians 5:4), wielded to corrupt truth, beauty, and goodness. Read more here: nsa.edu/blog/words-and-culture-making

The West’s compromised glory began with forsaking God. Biblical Christianity forged the West's greatness with pillars that still bear today’s collapse.
We want men who know, love, and obey God.

To reform the West and recover its glory, we must cultivate men guided by the enduring virtues of faith, hope, and love—men whose strength is drawn from the joy of truth and the freedom it brings. These are men undeterred by the pressure of pain, conflict, discomfort, or even death. They remain resolute in the face of threats, mastering righteous self-restraint in the presence of temptation. Their laughter echoes with unyielding joy, even as the battles around them rage with increasing ferocity.
At New Saint Andrews College, we understand that shaping culture is no easy task. It is a challenge—arduous and demanding—but it is the price of achieving anything truly remarkable. The rigor we uphold is not an end in itself, but a necessary condition for glory. Those who disdain hard work will find that freedom and fruitfulness remain ever elusive. It is through the crucible of righteous fervor that character and competence are forged—qualities that our Lord deems good.

What Makes our Degree Different?
The liberal arts education is the education of the liber, the free man. The education of a liberal arts college is meant to be freeing. But all around us we see colleges that enslave rather than free. American higher education is so dependent on federal money that it must bend and bow to every passing demand of a government that is increasingly hostile to religious liberty. Its graduates walk off the stage, not as free men and women, but as slaves to student loan debt that spirals ever upward. And they enter their professional lives, not as free men and women trained to serve as Christian leaders of culture, but rather as vocational hirelings.
At New Saint Andrews College, we desire to graduate students who are free intellectually as well as financially. NSA has always stood apart as a principled institution of Christian higher education and as a leader in classical, Christian education. Our early faculty and staff worked hard to craft a pedagogy that focuses on instilling the habits of lifelong Christian learning and leadership in our students, and their vision has continued faithfully to the present day. Further, over twenty-five years ago, the founding board demonstrated tremendous foresight when it refused to accept any form of federal or state government money or aid. As a result, NSA is in a more free position to serve God. Read more about our different approach to education at nsa.edu
