More K-12 connections! Students from the Human Development and Lifespan course at Paradise Creek Regional High School visited West Park Elementary School today to read to 1st graders! We love connecting all students!

These MHS students are hard at work preparing to be Moscow Bear Mentors! In this role these students will be given the opportunity to serve as a mentor for a dedicated elementary-aged student. Through weekly sessions and plenty of activities, Moscow Bear Mentors hope to serve as an essential role model and support system for younger students. Awesome leadership in action!

What about the supplemental levy? This is a question we often get. The supplemental levy is utilized for many purposes…. athletics, activities, curriculum, salary, full day kindergarten, and many other supplemental expenses. While it is on going in nature it can never increase in amount unless voters approve.

Our last supplemental levy increase was 2018. In that interim we have held the line and have seen large drops in the mil rate or the rate that property owners pay. We have also lost significant ground to inflation over those 8 years but we have managed to keep the supplemental levy at the same dollar amount.

A plant facility levy is only able to be expended on projects and expenses allowed by law. It is not a blank check.

The election is Tuesday, November 3rd

The following information is required by Section 34-914, Idaho Code:

The estimated average annual cost to the taxpayer on the proposed levy is a tax of $280 per $100,000 of taxable assessed value, per year, based on current conditions.

The proposed levy would be assessed for 7 years.

Have a question about the Proposed Plant Facility Levy? Pack a lunch or buy a slice, hit the drive through or finagle something from the fridge…. Join from work or on your walk or from home but definitely grab a friend if you can and find a quiet spot with an Internet connection and Join Superintendent Tiegs for a virtual lunch informational meeting.

Starting Thursday, September 24, 2026 he will answer questions on Zoom about the levy with facts and information EVERY THURSDAY FROM NOON TO 1 PM until the election on Tuesday, November 3rd.

Fun fact: Did you know that in the last two years our Girls teams have thrived!! 3 state championships… Soccer and Back to back in track…. a state berth in volleyball and a brand new stand alone girls wrestling program at both the HS and MS level!

And the Boys? Not bad also, multiple individual state champion/state wide record holder Noah Crossler in swim and a baseball championship in 2024 for the first time in 40 years!

Looking for something fun and meaningful to do on our upcoming no-school day on Friday, October 09?

Moscow School District’s Community Schools Program, in partnership with the Palouse Land Trust, is offering a FREE Stewardship Adventure at Idler’s Rest on Friday, October 9!

Students will get outside, explore one of our beautiful local natural areas, and participate in hands-on stewardship activities. It’s an awesome opportunity to learn by doing while connecting with our community and the outdoors!
