With the beginning of the New Year, Moscow Parks and Recreation has introduced a new opportunity to the community! This year we have added two new theater programs!

Little Performers (ages 6 – 9) and Theater Makers (ages 10 -14) provides children to learn the science of the stage in this dynamic class for young performers and creators! From storytelling, to character development and working with props, students will build confidence and team building skills through collaboration to then put on a small performance to conclude their hard work!

The virtual play is coming along! We’ve hit so many bumps during the rendering and editing process. I’ve learned so much about Adobe Premiere, Adobe After Effects and Unreal. My husband is extremely talented and I am so blessed he has taught me along the way. I have so much respect for what virtual designers do. I could not have brought my idea to life without him. My favorite part will be seeing the kid’s faces when they see themselves in a virtual world! A first ever been done experience and my passion coming to life. I can not wait to see how this year follows and the extraordinary journey I am about to take with my theatre academy. All these years of hard work and it’s finally here, my dream come true.

In the editing stage of our virtual play. I am beyond excited for our final product. I am so proud of my little actors and the incredible work they’ve done. This is incredibly rewarding as an educator!

I’m very proud of the collaboration between my students who came up with their very own unique play. I took their ideas and wrote a script in 24 hours. Drum roll....

Today's class was my absolute favorite for so many reasons! The first is the fact that each and every one of the kids showed enthusiasm and energy for the material. The second is that they not only understood the content but exceeded my expectations of how much retention and absorption they demonstrated. Wow! My theory on this was not only right but I've proven that their ability to soak information up like a sponge works well with college material! They have learned advanced character theory and they are children! I am blown away! I converted my character theory knowledge from the greats like Meisner and Stanislavsky to a simple lesson that children can retain and use. My theory is working! Exciting stuff!

In less than 24 hours I wrote a play! After collaborating with my students for two days, I took all their ideas and wrote them a one of a kind script. I am beyond excited to send it to them for today’s class read through. Title and cast list coming soon!
