🇵🇷✨ From Morrow to El Morro! ✨
Morrow Middle School is making history with its inaugural EF Educational Tour to Puerto Rico! This week, our students journeyed from Morrow Middle to the historic walls of El Morro, where they explored Puerto Rico’s rich history, culture, and traditions.
Throughout the trip, students have experienced the very best of Puerto Rico. They explored the colorful streets of Old San Juan, kayaked through beautiful waters, hiked through the lush landscapes of El Yunque Rainforest, and spent time relaxing and enjoying the beautiful shores of Luquillo Beach.
Students also visited a traditional hacienda, where they learned about Puerto Rico’s agricultural heritage, farming practices, and local fruits and spices. They even had the opportunity to interact with horses and learn about their care, behavior, and role on the farm.
The cultural experiences continued with authentic Puerto Rican cuisine, energetic salsa lessons, and participation in traditional Bomba dance, allowing students to connect with the island’s vibrant music, history, and traditions in a meaningful way.
As a Magnet Certified School with a thriving Dual Language Immersion program, this experience provided our students with authentic opportunities to engage with the Spanish language, deepen their cultural understanding, and see firsthand the value of being globally minded learners.
This unforgettable journey has provided our students with real-world learning experiences, cultural enrichment, and memories that will last a lifetime. We are incredibly proud of the way they have represented Morrow Middle School throughout this historic first EF Tour.
