🌿 4-H Environment & Nature Camp 2026 - Day Four & Camp Complete! 🌿

And just like that, our four days of 4-H Environment & Nature Camp have come to an end! ❤️

Today we went on a garden adventure, had a Taco ’bout Beef with Miss S., learned all about worms and vermicompost with Ms. Julie, and finished up our nature journals before it was time to head home.

Over the last four days, we’ve explored trees, leaves, soil, insects, animal tracks, creeks, gardens, and so much more! We made sun prints, leaf prints, recycled paper, nature journals, and insect rub prints, got our feet wet, played games, learned from some amazing guests, and most importantly, made some pretty great memories together!!!

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped make these four days so special, especially our wonderful guest educators and all of the people who shared their time, knowledge, and words of wisdom with us along the way. 🌱🐛🌳

Camp may be over, but the memories will last forever! 💚 Until next summer, nature explorers! 🦋

4-H Environment and Nature Camp - Day Three!🌿🦋

Always a fan favorite, today we went to the creek to look for macro-invertebrates… and of course we got our feet wet! 💦

We had Mat Webber with us for some “side tracking,” as he calls it, and we always appreciate his words of wisdom along the way! From the things he teaches us about nature to the life skills and lessons he shares on our treks, there’s always something to learn when Mat is along! 🌲🥾

We also made insect rub prints for our nature journals, finished up our recycled paper journal covers, and had a wild game of musical chairs to get our blood pumping midday!

Summer camp is just SO much fun! We can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings! ☀️🍀❤️

🍀 4-H Environment & Nature Camp - Day Two!

Day two was packed with more outdoor fun and learning! We took a nature walk, made sun prints, learned how to identify animal tracks, played wild animal charades, and got a lesson all about soil.

The cherry on top of a great day… what’s a nature camp without eating a little dirt and worms?!

So much fun, learning, and exploring but we’re not done yet… more camp fun to come tomorrow! 💚

This week we will be setting up our displays at the DeRuyter Fireman’s Fair!🍀

Saturday we will be hosting a poultry and rabbit show/clinic at the fairgrounds from 2pm to 4pm. ALL YOUTH ARE WELCOME to attend!

What an AMAZING week we’ve had sharing this project with all of you! 🎣💚

Seeing this educational display come back to life and watching so many people stop, explore, learn, and enjoy it has made all the work behind it SO worth it!

A project like this doesn’t happen without some pretty incredible partners, and we have so many people to thank!

It truly takes a community to bring projects like this together, and we couldn’t be more thankful for everyone who played a part in making this educational display a renewed success.

AgVentures at the Fairgrounds 🌱🍀

The community joined us for hands-on activities, career stations, and conversations about agriculture and our environment. Thank you to the The Madison County Fair, NY , our volunteers, partners, and everyone who helped make the day happen.

The fair is still open this weekend, with rides, livestock shows, grandstand events, and more happening through August 2. Stop by and enjoy a few more days of fair fun!
