AOY Art Center is a non-profit organization, dedicated to nurturing the creative spirit of the community by educating and encouraging individuals to experience, appreciate and share in the arts. Established in 2004, we continue to grow with over 250 members, exhibiting professionals and all others interested in the visual arts. In 2010, AOY adopted the historic Janney House on Patterson Farm in
Yardley, PA as their new home and art center. Located in the heart of
Bucks County, the panoramic views of the surrounding farmland
complements the organization's aesthetic tenor. AOY offers classes in all media, weekend workshops and summer
camps for children and young adults. Our exciting and innovative
programs are taught by professional-level instructors. Throughout the year, AOY hosts a vast array of opportunities for
artists to bring their work to the public, including juried and non-
juried shows, ‘Interludes’ – the in-between exhibitions highlighting
one or two members’ works, along with indoor and outdoor fund-raising and social events.

Happy Birthday to Dale Chihuly, born on this day in 1941! Chihuly, a native of Tacoma Washington, is famous for his dazzling artistic glass creations. Orbs, cylinders, spikes and spirals – Chilhuly’s work appears to defy gravity.

A little rain couldn’t dampen the spirit of Art on the Farm! Our heartfelt thanks to everyone who grabbed an umbrella, put on their rain gear, and came out to celebrate art, music, and community with us at Patterson Farm.

Thank you to our talented artists and artisans, wonderful musicians Omeed Nyman, Pretty Bird Coffee Roasters, our hardworking volunteers, and everyone who shopped, listened, ate, visited, and enjoyed the day. Your enthusiasm and support made a rainy day feel bright!

We’re so grateful to this community for showing up and supporting AOY Art Center and the arts at Patterson Farm.

From Lower Makefield is a Great Place to Live...

The Pennsylvania Historic Preservation Board Meeting unanimously voted to send the National Register Nomination of The Thomas Janney Agricutlural District (Patterson Farm) to the US Park Service for final approval for the Register. This nomination had over 20 letters of support!!! I listened to about 5 of them and none of them had letters sent it. I was told the Board called that level of support out. Thanks also to AOY Art Center for sending letters along with everyone I thanked last week.

Again look what can be accomplished when community works together!

This Sunday, Sept. 20, Art on the Farm will be swinging with live jazz throughout the day featuring Omeen Nyman and the fabulous Pennsbury Alumni Jazz Band.

Stroll the beautiful grounds of historic Patterson Farm, meet more than 40 talented artists and artisans, shop for one-of-a-kind finds, grab something from the AOY concession stand — and settle in for some seriously good jazz.
