🌟Meet Your School Resource Officer🌟

Coming up next Friday, May 29th, students and their parents can enjoy spending time with all the county SROs outside of a school setting and in a fun, laid-back environment...Fred Miller Park.

Sheriff Chad Mullins, who has spent a lot of time in the dunking booth at past events, says this is an opportunity for parents to meet the person responsible for their child's safety during school hours.

"In addition to being a fun event, kids learn to become comfortable around their SROs and see them as more than just a person in a uniform," Mullins said. "Besides respecting law enforcement, it's important that kids know they can also trust law enforcement."

The free event is for students of all ages, K-12, and will take place May 29th from 2:00 p.m. - 6:00 p.m. A rain date has been set for June 2nd.

The HCSO, the Fraternal Order of Police (Cherokee Lodge #4) and the SROs have teamed up again for this year's festivities.

Some reminders for this week:

*If your student has medicine in the clinic (epi-pens, inhalers, oral meds, etc.) these need to be picked up by Wednesday. After Wednesday, they will be discarded.

*Wednesday, May 20, is the last full day of school. Grade cards and all personal items will be sent home with students on Wednesday. Students who are here on Wednesday to receive grade cards WILL NOT be required to attend school on Friday morning.

*The front offices will be closed for the summer after Friday morning. 🐾 🌞 😎 ☀️

Alpha Elementary graduations will be held on Wednesday, May 20, 2026. Both ceremonies will be held in the Intermediate gym, and the doors WILL NOT open until 15 minutes prior to each ceremony. The times are as follows:

8:30 a.m. - 5th Grade
10:00 a.m. - Kindergarten

The SUN Summer Nutrition Programs for Kids is offering bulk meal pick-ups this June to keep our students healthy and fed all summer long! Each bag includes 7 days worth of meals for anyone under the age of 18.

Starting Friday morning, May 15, at 8:00 a.m, we will have a VERY LIMITED number of extra yearbooks available for purchase in the front offices of both buildings. The cost is $30 and there are NO HOLDS!

Reminder to all parents of returning Alpha students - returning students must be registered for the 2026–2027 school year before the current school year ends. Please log on to your parent portal account to complete this.

New student and incoming kindergarten online registration will be available after July 1.

If you have any questions or need assistance, please call the school office. Office staff will no longer be available to offer assistance after May 20 for the summer break.

It's that time of year when our lost and found at both buildings is absolutely overflowing!! Please feel free to stop by either building to search for any clothing items, water bottles, etc. that your child has misplaced. All lost and found items will be donated to charity on the last day of school, May 20. 👚 👕 🧥
