Congratulations to Dr. Eugene de Silva, professor of physics and chemistry, and Dr. Jerry Wilhoit, professor of biology. Both have received "Good as Gold" awards.

"Good as Gold" is a student-nominated award sponsored by Phi Theta Kappa, the international honor society for community colleges.

Walters State Community College will be closed on Friday, June 19 in celebration of Juneteenth.

In a world that encourages science and engineering majors, Mia Kelly is a proud art major. And it's paying off. She is the first Walters State student to receive PTK"s Hites Transfer Scholarship.

No, this bear was not on campus as a guest lecturer in the fish and wildlife program. The bear was just taking a break in the quad and was last seen heading to Oak Hills, the subdivision behind the college. If you see the bear, don't approach it.
