In this episode of The PrideCast, host Taylor Williams '03 sits down with Virginia Savage ’05, whose Peck story has truly come full circle.

After graduating from Peck in 2005, Virginia went on to Lawrenceville and Hamilton College before returning to South Street, this time as an educator. Over the years, she has worn many hats at Peck, including English teacher, advisor, coach, grade-level leader, and Interim Head of the Upper School.

It’s a conversation about coming home, finding purpose, and what it means to carry the lessons of Peck with you long after graduation.

🏑⚽️🏃 Peck Athletics is off to a strong start this fall! Our student-athletes are bringing plenty of teamwork, grit, and Peck Pride. Soccer and Field Hockey kicked things off with intersquad scrimmages before beginning interscholastic competition, while Cross Country jumped right into action with its first meet at Delbarton!

🏃 Cross Country: At Delbarton, both the Boys and Girls teams earned team victories with first-place finisher Marvin X. The momentum continued at Chester, where Ellie H. and Marvin X. each earned first-place finishes, helping lead both teams to victories. Back on campus, Peck runners also turned in strong performances on the Lion Loop, with plenty of personal bests and exciting finishes across the 5/6 and 7/8 races.

⚽️ Soccer: Our teams continue to battle and improve each time they take the field. 5/6 Blue made a statement with a dominant win over Far Brook, including a hat trick from Ben S., while both 7/8 teams showed plenty of fight, teamwork, and growth in their early matchups.

🏑 Field Hockey: 7/8 Field Hockey remains undefeated at 2–0, while 5/6 Blue opened its season with a win over Far Brook. Strong defense, unselfish play, and fierce competitiveness have been on display across the program.

Each year, the entire Peck community comes together for our annual Honor Code Assembly: a tradition that reminds us of the values at the heart of who we are.

Led by Head of School Andy Delinsky, students and faculty read the Honor Code Pledge aloud together before one student from each grade signs on behalf of their classmates. Later, every student adds their own signature, making a personal commitment to uphold the values of consideration, respect, responsibility, honesty, and integrity throughout the year.

The assembly concluded with another special Peck tradition: singing our alma mater together, led by the Upper School Chorus. 🎶

As Chef Appreciation Week comes to a close, we’re stepping behind the kitchen doors with our own Chef Joe Mirra! 👨‍🍳

When you think of lunch at Peck, you probably think of Family Dining, but there’s a lot more happening behind the scenes. From locally sourced ingredients and made-from-scratch meals, to introducing students to new flavors and keeping hundreds of students happily fed each day, Chef Joe and his team put a lot of care into what makes it to the table.
