Our new Olympic gas kiln has arrived! 🎉 Thanks to UMN Morris Facilities for safely getting this 2000lb beast off of the truck. The kiln will be installed in Summer 2024. Thanks to the Windgate Charitable Trust Foundation for their generous support. 🙏

Some snippets from Painting 1’s Self Directed Still Lifes. We are focused on building meaning with object selection, placement, and composition and utilizing the properties of painting to emphasize or shift the content of the final image. Students are also experimenting with colored light!

A painting from the UMN - Morris permanent art collection, “Circusy” by Evelyn Martin, has been installed in the ground floor hallway of HFA. Stop by to check it out!

Martin is a St. Paul based artist who had an exhibit of her paintings in the Morrison gallery in the 1970s.

Only a few weeks left to catch “Native Enough” by Nina O’Leary and “Parade” by Emmett Ramstad in the Morrison Gallery! The show comes down October 11th.
