Located in the Butternut Valley of Otsego County in central New York State. Since the centralization of the district in 1929, the original building which was completed in 1932 has had 4 additions and some interior renovations. An extensive capital project building plan was approved by the public in June 2000. This project has added nine new secondary classrooms, as well as renovated 85% of the exi
sting space. All classrooms now have access to the internet with the completion of this project. The project has also added new athletic facilities for use by the school and community groups. The nearest population center is Oneonta, which has 2 institutions of higher education, the State University College at Oneonta and Hartwick College. The cities of Binghamton, approximately 60 miles south, Albany, approximately 80 miles to the east, and Utica, approximately 50 miles north, provide opportunities for exposure to urban cultural activities. The district has full-day Pre-K & Kindergarten programs. The elementary grades K-6 have a population of 209 students. The middle school grades 7-8 have a population of 63 students, and the secondary grades of 9-12 have 122 students. There are 3 administrators, 2 guidance counselors, 42 teachers, 2 licensed teaching assistants, and 12 teacher aides.
