Camp Awosting 🥾 Mt Tom. Another Successful Hike!

Once again we say goodbye to an incredible session! Wow session 3, lots to say about you... We met amazing kids, played fun games, caught plenty of fish, bonded as brothers, even got invaded by zombies! Awosting got filled with clowns on Carnival Day, quite a lot of flips while tubing 😂 and we destroyed Chinqueka in the archery competition, again! So many memories made during the campfires: introducing our team captains, dancing, dressing for a pool party, lots of water, hands on feet and feet on hands and introducing our War Canoe team. We built fires, played soccer, learned aaaaaall the Awosting chants (and came up with new ones!), raced in the go karts track and also learned new tricks in mountain bikes!!

Finally, with our cloaks and wands, we travelled through platform 9 3/4 on Watersports Day where the Eagles won the swim meet 💙 And once again, where Awosting won against Chinqueka in War Canoe. These kids worked so hard for two whole weeks and it showed in the result, it's not only a physical challenge but also a mental one. We're incredibly proud of each and every one of you 🧡

And just like that, session 1 flew by🥺 what an amazing session we had! We learned new skills, tried different things, made lots of friends and had so much fun!! These past two weeks, laughter filled the Awosting roads and the campers left leaving our hearts full 🫶🏼 First, we were inducted into our teams! But we're still one big family 💙💚❤️ We also went up the ropes course (and smashed it😉), swam at the waterfront, got dirty in the mud, played lots of different games like Hunger Games and even got invaded by ZOMBIES!! The pirates also took over Camp Awosting with lots and lots of water guns and water balloons! And let's not forget about our first swim meet which the lions won❤️ 4th of July arrived and we celebrated with Chinqueka with delicious food, fun games and even a petting zoo (and a little bit of rain)! We danced at the campfire, theme nights in the dining hall, team games and TONS of hair dye🫣😂 Thanks to each and everyone of you who were part of these amazing first weeks, excited to see what session 2 brings!

That concludes our first swim meet! It was competitive and each team fought for victory… however it was the lions 🦁 who took the crown 👑

1st: Lions 🦁❤️
2nd: Eagles 🦅 💙
3rd: Wolves 🐺 💚

But it doesn’t stop… every team has a chance to win, we’re only getting started! Who will be the 2026 winning team? 🏆👀

Our first week at camp is done, and our rookie weekers went home with more than great memories.

They went home with new friends, friends they can trust, understand, and make memories with.

That is the magic of Camp Awosting. Even when it is your first summer, it rarely feels like your last. The friendships formed here stay with you, and the people beside you become the ones who help you see it through.

It has been a challenging but fun week, and for anyone who felt homesick, know this: you will always have a home at Awosting, and you will always have a friend in us.
