Our MS Nationals team returned home today and although we didn’t reach our goal of making it to playoffs, this team put up the highest average score for any Morris MS team to date, improving the previous year’s average score by 65 points, a 40% increase. Next, we send our 8th graders off to HS quiz bowl, then take some time off. In July, we dive back in with quiz bowl camp before starting the run for playoffs all over again!

Our MS run for playoffs came down to the final match yesterday in a win or go home contest. The team came up short and finished the tournament 4-4, missing playoffs by one win. We’re very proud of these players and how they performed yesterday! The pressure of performing at nationals is unlike any other tournament. They’ve all gained valuable experience for their return to HS and MS quizbowl next year. Today, the team will see Chicago’s historic Navy Pier and watch the playoffs and finals of the 2026 MSNCT.

Today was Chicago day for our middle school team: Riverboat architecture tour, Art Institute, Cloud Gate, and the Field Museum. First MSNCT match tomorrow at 9 am!

5 State Champions make up this year's haul from the OAAC Tournament of Champions!

Morris students, competing against over 700 students from across the state brought home 33 Top 10 finishes, 18 Top 5, 3 State Runner Ups, and 5 State Champions!

National Runner Up! A Team played a brilliant tournament today finishing as the #2 VSS in the country and #8 overall. B Team finished 21st and Max was named to the Rising Star Team as one of the best underclassmen at Nationals!

Day 3 was our first competition day. A Team went 9-1 today in prelims and will advance to the playoffs tomorrow morning. B Team also went 9-1 in the best prelims performance our B Team has ever notched! Both teams will be in action again tomorrow against the best of the best.
