Our first 2018-2019 year "Classroom Highlight" is our Bible Story read to us weekly by Lauren Hassan!

"I am so excited to be teaching Bible Story as I get to interact with each and every child at Joyful Noise. That can also present a challenge teaching the same story to all age groups. Some weeks, different age groups will do different activities while still receiving the same message. My main goal for all the children is for them to leave my class knowing that God and Jesus love them, that we should treat each other with love and that there are many people and things to be grateful for. I also want them to have fun because it’s so much easier to learn when you are comfortable and enjoying yourself. I try to bring active participation into as many lessons as possible. Some days, stories will be from the Bible, other times I will use books that are more secular but share an important message.
The first Bible story in October was Noah’s Ark. This was a story that works for all age groups. It was also a great opportunity to let children have lots of active participation in the story. When they entered the classroom, they were asked to sit in the ark I had made on the floor out of tape. Then we read the book, Rainy Rainy Day: The Story of Noah’s Ark. Next the children are able to re-tell the story themselves using a flannel board. Each child received a flannel piece that was part of the story. I then re-tell the story and they listen for the clues to bring up their piece and add it to the board. It was fun to give them hints about all the different animals. We also played with an stuffed ark and animals. The children were given a stuffed animal, they had to find the matching animal and march them into the ark. This can help reinforce matching concepts that they do in their individual classrooms. Finally, we ended the class by listening to the song The Unicorn, dancing and doing the animal motions. The children really enjoyed!"

Our first few days back at Joyful Noise have been full of fun, smiles, waves and lots of hugs! We are all beginning to settle into our new and exciting classroom routines! Enjoy the rest of September and be on the lookout for lots of pumpkins in the near future! 🎃

FYI: Back To School Night is Tuesday, October 9th. Please look for more information pertaining to your childs classroom and when they will be meeting in the upcoming backpack mail and on our website. Thank you and Happy Autumn 🍁🍂

Our summer program came to an amazing end last week! Our days were full of laughter, fun, education, and entertainment! These collages are photos from just a few of our fun filled days here at Joyful Noise Summer Enrichment "Camp"! Wishing all our graduating students tons of fun and excitement on their new school adventures. Also wishing our returning and new students lots of smiles and happiness while starting their adventure in a new classroom here at JNNS!

Our Joyful Noise reading program ended April 13! Please continue to read aloud to your children! This week all classrooms will receive an ice cream treat for doing such a great job. Parents, please continue to sign up to read to your child's class at your convenience! 📖

Our amazing bountiful Joyful Noise garden from start to finish! Just look at those enormous sunflowers! Thank you Mrs. Svoboda for being our "farmer" and teaching the kids about gardening! We enjoyed the amazing vegetables at snack this summer and we will have fantastic "Joyful" pumpkins to carve!
