Morrill Public Schools Transitions to a Four-Day School Week for 2026–27
The Morrill Public Schools Board of Education has approved a transition to a four-day school week beginning with the 2026–27 school year. This is an exciting change for our students, families, and staff, and we want to ensure everyone understands what to expect.

Why We Made This Change
After careful study and consideration of community feedback, the Board determined that a four-day school week will help support:
• Stronger teacher recruitment and retention
• More focused, high-quality instructional time
• Improved well-being for students, families, and staff
• Alignment with growing statewide trends that support rural Nebraska schools

What to Expect
Regular School Days: Monday–Thursday

High School-7:45 a.m. – 3:50 p.m.
Elementary School-8:00 a.m. – 3:40 p.m.

Preschool (Half Day)-8:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m

We are excited about the opportunities this new schedule provides and look forward to partnering with our families to make the 2026–27 school year a success. Thank you for your continued support of Morrill Public Schools. We look forward to welcoming your children back to school.
