What a blessing! This afternoon we had some Academy students, staff, and family of students and staff meet to build a gaga ball pit and swing. The gaga ball pit was purchased from the funds raised at the spaghetti dinner and auction this past Spring. While it was a lot of work, it was also a good time. Thank you so much to all who helped.
We have had a great start to the new school year. It is so wonderful to see the smiles on the faces of the students and to hear their laughter as they interact with each other. As always, your prayers are greatly appreciated!

The walls are washed, the desks are in order, the chairs pushed in, and the flags are in place. The Learning Center is ready and waiting to greet the students on Wednesday. It is hard to believe that summer is almost over. Yet, here we are.... eagerly anticipating a new school year. The start of the new year is a good time to implement new ideas and programs which we hope will motivate the students to a greater academic achievement while making the process fun and challenging. As always, we really appreciate prayer support. Please pray for staff and students as they settle back in to the Academy environment.

We are accepting applications for the 2026-2027 school year. We have a lot of exiting changes this year with privilege levels being incorporated as well as a new incentive program in which students can earn 'upgrades'.
We have streamlined our tuition this year to have one cost which will cover everything except registration fees. Having no breakdown of payments will make billing easier for the Academy as well as for the parents. Our new tuition this year is $2700 per student. Because most of our staff are volunteers, we are able to keep tuition affordable. Call the office for an application packet. And please keep the staff in your prayers as they work toward getting everything ready for the new school year.

What is BCA?

Background
The Brockway Christian Academy was started in 1978 to give a Biblical based education to children of the Brockway church. It has since been opened up to all children, not just those in the church, but still teaches students based on Biblical principles, with an emphasis on instilling Godly character.

How it Works
BCA treats each student as an individual. It uses self-paced material so each student moves through and learns based on their own ability, making sure they master each new subject before moving on. Developing good character is woven into every aspect of their learning. It is woven into each subject as well as daily class times.

Using self-paced material also lets BCA students get a quality education in a budget-friendly way. Instead of the expense of hiring teachers for every subject, we have trained staff that can help students through the difficult areas and keep them motivated. They get the advantages seen in a good home-school education, while still having the opportunities to socialize and interact with others.

So why BCA? Because BCA provides a quality education that builds student character, as well as their minds.

HE DID IT!! Mr. Stu has graduated and is now an official A.C.E. Principal/Administrator. It has been a long week of classes and homework and several PACEs were completed. It was more fun than a barrel of monkeys!

Final grades are all entered, report cards were sent out and everything has been cleaned to be ready for next year.

There is a slight pause and then we will be getting everything ready for next year.

Here is a good graduation speech, really a speech about living a good life, about getting rid of perpetual negativity, doom, and victimhood and replacing it with hope and joy. The essence of the talk:

"You are not a slave to the bad things that have happened to you or will happen to you. You have been freed in Christ to a life of peace and joy."

A heartfelt message urging us all to reject negativity and build a life grounded in purpose and joy.

Last Thursday at the Awards night, it was not just the students who were recognized but also the staff. One of the staff members seldom gets recognized though she makes sure everyone else does. On Thursday, one of the students read a paper that she had written in appreciation of this Supervisor. Keep in mind that these are her own words, without any prompting or coaching, but rather from the heart. It's a bit long but we hope you enjoy reading it.

"Today I want to take a moment to talk about someone who deserves far more appreciation than they usually receive; Mrs. Teresa. Teachers do so much more than just stand in front of a classroom full of kids and explain lessons. Every single day they put in their time, energy, patience, and effort to help their students learn, grow, and succeed. Even when they're tired or stressed, they still show up ready to guide and support us.
A teacher's impact goes far beyond grades and assignments. They teach us important life lessons like responsibility, perseverance, confidence, and respect. They encourage us when we struggle and remind us not to give up when things get difficult. Sometimes they believe in us before we believe in ourselves, and that kind of support can truly change someone's life.
I especially want to thank my teacher for her patience and understanding. Teaching a classroom full of students every day is not easy, yet she continues to help us, answer our questions, and makes sure nobody gets left behind. She takes the time to explain things over and over again when we don't understand the first time. She never stops encouraging us to do our best. That kind of patience means so much more than we probably realize.
Another thing I appreciate is the effort they put into making lessons meaningful and interesting. Mrs. Teresa spends hours planning lessons, grading work, and preparing activities for us, often outside of school hours. A lot of people only see the classroom part of teaching, but there is so much more work happening behind the scenes. Her dedication deserves proper recognition because she works hard to create an environment where students can learn and feel supported.
What truly makes a great teacher is not only their knowledge, but the way they treat their students. A great teacher makes students feel heard, respected, and capable. They create a classroom where mistakes are seen as opportunities to learn instead of something to be ashamed of. They inspire confidence in students and help shape who we become in the future. Like a lighthouse in the middle of a chaotic storm of homework, stress, and deadlines, Mrs. Teresa helps guide us forward even when things feel overwhelming.
I know that students, myself included do not always say thank you enough, but today, I want Mrs. Teresa to know that her hard work does not go unnoticed. The lessons she teaches us will stay with us long after we leave this classroom. Years from now we might not remember every assignment or test or every signed homework slip, but we will remember the teacher who supported us, encouraged us, and cared so much more about our success than we did.
So, from the bottom of my heart, thank you. Thank you for your patience, your kindness, your dedication, and your belief in us. Thank your inspiring us to work harder and become better versions of ourselves. Mrs. Teresa, you truly make a difference in the lives of your students every single day, and for that, we are incredibly grateful."

Thank you to all who came out to support the students on Awards Night. What a special night! We had many ties this year for top medals in separate subjects. We also gave out two leadership awards to students who used their walk with Christ to encourage and guide other students. The Eye of the Tiger award went to a student who, at one point in the year, looked as if he would never be able to finish. His perseverance and dedication was truly an inspiration. All of the students did an amazing job this year and none went home without an award.
Not only were the students recognized for their accomplishments, but the students and families honored the staff. The kind words and gifts were greatly appreciated and encouraging as we look to the next year. The BCA families are a great group of people and a blessing to be a part of!

We were blessed with a beautiful day on Wednesday for our end of the year field trip to John Ball Zoo. The weather was perfect and we had a great time. We were able to participate in a Wildlife Encounter where some of the students got up close to a ball python. They also were able to see a tarantula up close! The grizzly bear was very active and came out as if to put on a show for us. The zoo is always such a great way to celebrate God's amazing creation.
