We’re continuing our “Get to Know Our Team” series by introducing our Preschool (3-year-old) teacher, Ms. Melyssa!

With 10 years of experience in education, including 5 years in special education and 5 years in early childhood education, Ms. Melyssa brings experience, creativity, and a genuine love for helping young children learn and grow.

Outside of the classroom, Ms. Melyssa enjoys reading, visiting her local library, and getting creative with knitting, crocheting, and sewing. She especially loves bringing that creativity into the classroom through paint and art-filled activities!

We’re so excited for our families to learn more about Ms. Melyssa and the passion she brings to our school each day! Keep following along as we continue introducing the amazing educators who make up the WVU Early Learning Institute team!

We're kicking off our "Get to Know Our Team" series by introducing our Director, Ms. Allison!

With 9 years of experience in education and 3 years in administration, Ms. Allison is passionate about creating a warm, play-based learning environment where every child feels safe, valued, and inspired to explore.

When she's not at school, you'll likely find her curled up with a good book, or cheering on her children from the sidelines as they enjoy their many sports and activities.

We can't wait for our families to get to know the incredible educators who make the WVU Early Learning Institute such a special place. Stay tuned as we introduce the rest of our amazing team!

Learn more about the changes in the story below:

Beginning with the 2026-27 academic year, the WVU Nursery School will transition to a full-day early childhood education model and be renamed the WVU Early Learning Institute. Enrollment interest is being accepted for both the 3-year-old preschool program and pre-K classes.
