A few weeks ago, we showed you a blank room and boxes of supplies waiting to be unpacked. Look how far we've come!

It's really starting to feel like a classroom! We still have some finishing touches ahead, but we're loving watching this space come to life.

We are so excited to introduce you to Amy, our Classroom Aide at Calvary Academy! Amy is a pastor's wife alongside her husband at Mountain Heights Church, and a mom to three children, including her youngest who will be joining us this fall at Calvary Academy.οΏ½

Amy's heart for children has taken many forms over the years. She studied early childhood education before stepping into the incredible work of church planting alongside her husband, and she has since poured that same love into working in a daycare, serving as a nanny, working in the kitchen of another local Christian school, and homeschooling her son this past year. Calvary Academy felt like the perfect next step for Amy, a chance to stay close to her own children while leaning fully into her passion for working with kids.οΏ½

In her own words: "I think that at a Christian school like Calvary, children are given the best opportunity to learn that Jesus is in everything, not just Bible class."οΏ½

🀍 Get to Know Our Lead Teacher

We are so excited to introduce you to Missi, our Lead Teacher at Calvary Academy! With a Bachelor's in K-8 education, a Master's in Reading, and over 10 years in the classroom, Missi has spent her career pouring into children, following God's leading from school to school until she found a home here at Calvary Chapel. Now she gets to do what she has always longed for: teach from a Biblical perspective, disciple children, and speak openly about her faith.

In her own words: "I love being part of building the foundation for the rest of a child's learning. Children at this age are like sponges, ready to soak up everything we offer them."

Under construction! πŸ”¨ Our classroom is officially in transformation mode. Furniture has been loaded in, cabinets and whiteboards are being rearranged, and centers and desks will soon start to take shape. Over the next few weeks you will watch this room go from a blank slate to a space ready to shape young minds, so stay tuned and make sure you're following along for pictures once it all comes together.

We're grateful for the freedom to raise our children in the fear and admonition of the Lord. The freedom to open the school day with prayer. To teach history with the Bible as our foundation. To say plainly that Jesus is Lord in every subject, every circle time, every closing prayer. That freedom is not something we take for granted.

So this weekend, as we celebrate our nation, we're also giving thanks to the One from whom all true freedom flows. It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Happy Fourth from our Calvary Academy family to yours.

We are officially counting down to the first day of school at Calvary Academy, and we could not be more excited.

One thing you'll notice about our calendar is that we start after Labor Day. This is completely intentional. We believe the last weeks of summer belong to your family. Road trips, late nights, slow mornings, one more trip to the pool. Those moments matter, and we never want school to cut them short.

When September 8th arrives, your child will walk through our doors rested, refreshed, and ready. And we will be ready for them.

If your family hasn't taken a tour yet, there's still time. We'd love to show you what we're building before that first bell rings.

There's a question we come back to constantly as we build Calvary Academy: what are we actually preparing our children for?

We believe education is more than academics. It's the slow, intentional shaping of a child's heart, mind, and character toward Christ, where every subject and every conversation becomes an opportunity for discipleship.

We believe it takes more than a good school to shape a child well. When home, church, and school are all pointing in the same direction, something really beautiful happens. That's why partnership with families who are actively engaged in their church community is so important to us. We're not meant to do this alone, and neither are you.
